Firstly before i start a massive well done on last seasons SUPERB title win.

Im here to say i watched Andrea Bocelli perform after winning the title and oh my word it sent shivvers down my spine. What a fantastic club you are, Ever since we played you in the league cup final in 2000 i have always looked out for your results and when you got relegated to league one it was a huge shock. I went to the walkers when you beat us 3-1 very much one sided affair. On the other hand we ended your 23 match unbeaten run i think?

Its a fall from grace for us at the moment being in the national league and we are miles away from being were we want to be. The obvious one for comparison is Bournemouth, We was top of league one in 2012 they was bottom they then hired Eddie Howe back, They beat us & the rest is literally history we suffered 2 relegations they got promoted twice.

Anyway my main point in this post is to say appreciate were your fine club are at the moment. win or lose just look at what you have won and nobody can take that away from you. Whilst were off to the likes of Sutton, Woking & North Ferriby just remember youll be going to Old Trafford, Anfield and the Emirates!

Good luck for the remainder of the season.

Andy.

Loved the battles with Tranmere in the early 90s, always tough games - especially the play-offs.

I was at Prenton Park the night you beat us 2-0 in 2009, Bas Savage tore us apart. Hardly comprehendible how different our paths have been since.

Thanks Andy. Best of luck this season. Just a matter of time before you are back in the football league.

Puts a bit of perspective into going in to meltdown over losing at Old Trafford and Anfield I suppose.

I do think many of us are becoming slightly guilty of forgetting what we really achieved last year or using it as a reason to get disheartened by a few bad results. We absolutely smashed the norm last season and it was spectacular. Our group of "average" players played at a level we never thought possible and it was a true fairytale ending! Things could not continue like that and our players have returned to their more mortal selves, but we are still an exciting Premiership team and still a favourite amongst the neutral fans.

Top post, cheers.

Best of luck getting back into the football league too. Hope you do it. I know how tough the conference is, there are plenty of big professional sides in that division.

Bocelli still sends shivers down my spine now with the pre match video of last season and him singing Nessun Dorma over the top of it.

I don't think half the crowd that day realised what a huge event it was to get him to sing to songs with everything else going on.

If we draw you in the FA cup at home you might get to see it. ;)

Best of luck.

Good man for the post, gives us a sense of perspective after moaning about being mid-table in the PL. I have a soft spot for Tranmere Rovers and echo what others have said, you'll be back in the Football League probably this season and if not next one.

Even sides like Forest Green Rovers who are spending like crazy to get in the football league. Mark Palios is the Tranmere chairman I think and he won't go risky and put the club in huge amounts of debt. Whereas the FGR guy is minted and wants them up the ladder at any expense.

A good post and sorry to see you struggling. I loved you back in the John Aldridge days and I think from his sacking things started to go downhill. Still no one knows better than us as to how quick things change in Football. Hopefuly you'll be back in the league two soon. Good luck for the season.

+1 post to the true Merseyside fans. Always in a shadow no glory but always turn up. Best fans in the country Imo. So easy to be red or blue but white rules. Thank you for your kind words and so hope your back soon.

He's right you know.....we're in the premier league, fantastic in itself, having come off a brilliant year and crowned Champions of England......last year was nothing short of spectacular. All I want as probably most on here want is a sincere 90 min plus effort every game from the players and manager without excuses....after that, who the hell are we to complain

I remember a game at Filbo against Tranmere(Hope it was Tranmere else this story is already fu#ked!!?)

Midweek, freezing cold, snow and stuff I'm sure it was a late call to play it and I'm.sure that Speedie fella did something.

Also our Wembley encounter!

Didn't Tranmere have a geezer who had an awesome throw in!!!?

The likes of you fans are the true roots of football. Its easy to support ManU,Liverpool etc but to actually go and watch your club no matter what League is whats si special about British football fans. Respect!

That's a great post. One of the most sensible we've had around here in a while.

There's been a bit of hysteria over the last fortnight to say the least but most of us realize that we've never had it so good and are still grateful for the success enjoyed.

Good luck to you and Tranmere Rovers in the season ahead.

I remember Gavin ward putting in one of the best City goal keeping performances I'd ever seen when we played at Prenton Pk, think it was the play off semi first leg in 94.

Also remember Phil Gee scoring a stunner on a Friday night game , it was a good away day to Tranmere, hope you have an upward curve in the coming years.

Makes a change reading this from other clubs rather than the usual 'you won it because everybody else was shit' posts. Finally some support from people that can appreciate the ridiculousness that was last season
