Barky Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Thought this might be interesting as we're all by being on here engaged with new media. You can tell us which one and why if too if you like. For me it must be going on five years.
SemperEadem Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Buy the obsever most Sundays, if on the train back for games I will normally buy a Saturday paper too. Will try and get a mercury when back home out of some loyality to a local paper, although find it's owned by the Dail Mail difficult.
Matt Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 I had stopped buying papers all together about a year or so ago but in May I seemed to buy loads for some reason...
separator Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Not bought a paper in years, Metro, and Evening Standard when I'm at work in london, are good enough and free.
Guest MattP Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Buy The Times everyday and Mail on Sunday at weekends. I like the way the quality press has adapted to the new age now and put the focus back on columnists, opinion and investigation rather than news. Makes for a better read as well.
DB11 Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 When I was at Uni a few years ago I'd buy The I if I was bored between lectures but that's it
Footballwipe Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 After Leicester had won the league and listed the trophy the following Saturday.
cc_star Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Years ago & living out in the sticks we don't get any junk papers either If newspapers provided news rather than agenda-driven view of news I might buy one
Crinklyfox Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Buy one a week for my eldest, he works on Saturday otherwise he'd get it himself. I haven't bought a newspaper for my own use for many years. I prefer my news up to date so get it from the TV and internet.

That should be totally the other way round... how is dad more up to date with tech and getting news that way than the child?!

He's far more up to date than me. The newspaper comes with a mag he likes and as he works an 11 hour shift on Saturday it's easier for me to pick it up than him. He gets his news the same way as me plus his phone isn't steam driven so he's much better connected to the world.
Webbo Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 I buy the Mail on Sunday every week. Sunday's not a Sunday without a paper. The news, the columnists, the football, the book/film reviews and then the suduko and crossword.

ozleicester Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Just returned to my old job of advertising in Newspapers, this time in a little local rag servicing the local area only. I havent bought a national or daily for years, but the local papers still serve a purpose (well i hope they do, else my job change will be an error lol)
ajthefox Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Occasionally buy one if I'm travelling and haven't seen the news, but other than that not often. Bought about 10 in May though.
ithuriel Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 When I get my hair cut I'll read the papers in the barber shop but I buy a newspaper every few months when something catches my eye.
urban.spaceman Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 I was out of the country at the time but I got my mum to buy every newspaper on the day after we won the league as souvenirs. Other than that it must be over a decade.

Haven't brought it in years. In fact I don't know many people who do. Mainly older folk I guess
Poznan34 Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Bought them all on 3 May! Don't buy them otherwise.
Nick Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 I switch about between the independent, guardian / observer, International Herald and Tribune, Le Monde, The I and the FT. I can't read The Mail on Sunday, The Sun or the Daily Mail without slipping into a rage.
