Thinking back, I'm pretty sure I've been happier when the team has played some scintillating football but we've conceded a goal or just not managed to put away chances and have drawn than when we've ground out a nervy, nasty 1-0 win with 1 chance and then backs to the wall for 80 minutes. The thing is that when the team is at least playing well, you can see hope for results even if you're not getting them right then.  When we're playing terribly then you start to wonder if this is the start of the slippery slope.  This isn't an "everyone panic!" post at all, but those of us old enough to have lived through the Peter Taylor era may see a few parallels with the way that team flattered to deceive and then crashed and burned.  Ranieri is, of course, better than Taylor, but you do have to wonder what dirt Schlupp must have on him to continually get a place in the team ;-)  I'd love to be able to ask Ranieri what the (his?) problem is with Gray though. To me he seems to inject a real spark in the team when he comes on.

 

This season there have been very few games (against decent opposition, at least) when we've actually played well. We've had the odd few minutes here and there but generally it's been very hard for us to string any kind of fast, flowing attacking football together and with Mahrez & Vardy continuing to underperform to what we know they can do, it is a bit worrying. Maybe Mendy will make a difference - we'll see.  It would be nice to see a bit more control and attacking flair again rather than the dour stuff we seem to revert to at present with Morgan and "Hoof" at the back thinking they are capable of spraying 60 yard balls forward accurately to Vardy.

Depends on the game..the period of the season, and Players/teams strengths percieved at the time..

There is no simple singular answer.

I am sure Leicester fans will believe..5-8 seasons like Sunderland, then lets hope we get relegated. Doing WBA , Stoke or Southampton, let fate take its course, and see how far the dreams take us..

This is always a tricky one as it can vary so much.

 

Like for example, I enjoyed Leicester 2-5 Arsenal a lot more than I enjoyed Aston Villa 1-1 Leicester., because we actually played quite well in parts of the first game.

 

But it is a results industry. I can take dropping points when we've played OK, it's just when we're handing games to teams that I can't stomach it. Like Man Utd this season, to defend like that I can't accept.

 

I do think ultimately though with Leicester you're not supporting us in the first place because of either. We get it quite good really.

Loke a lot of people have insinuated, it varies.

 

If our regular performances are exciting then I'm more than happy to accept to grind out a result on the odd ocassion, such as Copenhagen away.

Would not even take if offered a guarantee we'd grind out 1-0s in every game until the end of the season, scoring from a defensive error every game and spending 80% of the game camped in our own half - even if that guaranteed the title and CL. Because I don't think playing like that gets you and glory and plus, I pay to watch that.....

Performances since they are more indicative of future results. If we are not playing well consistently and getting results I doubt this will last into the long run. Same issue arose in our 2014/15 season where we were playing well but not getting results till our great escape and need I say more...

Ultimately it's results obviously...

 

But in an abstract sense I think it's all about context. If your team is doing well form wise, then performances become more desirable. When your winning all the time you can afford to be a bit greedy and want better football. 

 

But if the team's struggling then you're obviously more desperate and results will do! 

 

In the Great Escape season, before that final run I think any of us would have traded 'being competitive and losing to fine margins' for some shithouse wins for some much needed points. 

 

Of course the irony there being that had our results been better and our performances worse over the course of that season we may never have had the spirit to pull off the escape anyhow

Historically, we're a yo yo club. Results first, always. To me a scrappy 1-0 win will always be better than an entertaining 4-5 defeat. Maybe not to watch but to make my day more enjoyable.

Rather win with no bookings and certainly no injuries, but even don't mind if we win and there's numerous bookings - it would show the level of intent the team wanted to win the game either way albeit in a more old-fashioned style for the latter.

 

Certainly how referees perceive what is a foul/how bad it looks to them has somewhat slightly changed our approach a bit, and certain players appear to be more cautious in terms of their style.

I go to matches to be entertained. I enjoyed the match last season where we lost 5-2 to Arsenal because it was a good game.

Results person defiantly. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you play good or bad, you are only going to do well, in the league or cup etc, if you win games. It is nice to see good football being played though.

I go to watch my team win every time,regardless of opposition,

yes it's more hope than expectation some games,

but I don't care how we get the job done,

if it's in an entertaining way like the palace game then happy days,but as long as we win I don't care,

on the flip side,when we lose,it becomes about the performance,

to me if we can play bad and win performance isn't really relavent,it's how you perform in defeat that raises a talking point
