On the subject of Babs, I watched a few Carry on films over Christmas, I don't care how corny and childish a lot of the jokes were, I genuinely laughed out loud on numerous occasions. Kenneth Williams and Sid James must be two of the funniest people to come out of this country.

 

On the subject of Streep I've been a bit harsh on Hollywood, if you check Twitter there are plenty of gifs, videos and picture of numerous people in the crowd blankly staring, ignoring or just rolling their eyes as they listen to the speech rather than fawning, if that attitude is happening at the Golden Globes then we should feel good about the overall scenario.

The only ones I've spotted so far are Vince Vaughn (staring right through her), who's always been open about his political persuasion, and Mel Gibson, who, is, well, .... OK I saw Vince Vaughn.

 

Whilst still on this. Tom HIddleston has oddly had to apologise for his acceptance speech because he thanked Sudanese aid workers for binge-watching The Night Manager whilst being forced to stay inside whilst getting shelled, after they told him they loved it and thanked him for being part of it. How very bizarre.

Yeah. Consequence of today and the prevalence of the internet. Like the voting populace of the UK having had enough of "scientific experts". Say the right thing and you can get a lot of people hanging in your every word. Not that that's a unique thing now - it's happened through history, but it's much easier now. But ask yourself, if the CIA/FBI/Lefty liberals/bleeding-heart doogooders all got together and thought of a way to try and bring Trump down, do you think that "let's say he got prostitutes to piss on a bed in a Russian hotel" would be the golden shot that they thought of in the dossier?

 

Of course, evidence is needed, but it's just as dangerous to dismiss the allegations as a "witch hunt" as it is to take them at face value.

 

This is the teflon man, however. I expect nothing less than four years of allegation>furor>tweet>slur>distract>news cycle moves on

Nah, not dismissing them, but from what I've made out the information has been passed from "unverified" sources to the cia/FBI etc etc so I'll reserve judgement til I actually see some proof.

Even if this true, it isn't a crime or something to be mocked. If he likes being pissed on by hookers, that's his business and is no one else's. We wouldn't shame someone for being gay, same should apply to this.

In as much as it is his personal business then I agree with you.

 

If it is true, however, it will be funny to see how the Puritans who voted for him simply because of his party square that with themselves. Good clean family values indeed!

 

As an addendum, as his VP certainly WOULD shame someone for being gay...I wonder what he thinks of it all?

I can get behind Swank using her acceptance speech to rally against Trump. But did anyone else notice she basically slighted every football and MMA fan while doing so? Not to mention that one of the richest members of Hollywood wants to preach equality.

People over exaggerate the effect these sort of things have, in the grand scheme of things they mean little, our former PM was accused of shagging a dead pig and it was forgotton by most people within a week.
