RODNEY FERNIO Posted 18 March 2017 Posted 18 March 2017 Our summer signings were absolutely horrendous ..... N'Didi in January was a lot, lot better ... hopefully we've learnt from our mistakes
Jattdogg Posted 18 March 2017 Posted 18 March 2017 I think he is a good striker but dont feel like he fits in with us. Ulloa is a much cheaper option. I expect slim to leave this summer and bang in goals elsewhere.
Micky Posted 18 March 2017 Posted 18 March 2017 He comes on when the team are dead on their feet. He chases and harries and misses a one on one. That makes him shit? Good grief this place is full of short sighted people.

Even after a heroic win and battling performance, some would rather just focus on the negatives when there's so much to be positive about. But each to their own I guess.... you should see the Musa thread. First away win of the season and aside from the post-match thread, the Musa and Slimani threads have flared to life.

But he put himself about a bit and bought us time. Which is more than you can say for that fraud Musa who was horrendous. He can score one on ones, it isn't his best spot but he can do them easily. At least he could, now I can't really tell to be honest. He looks a completely different player from last season.

Most of the people here can't wait for one of his mistakes to happily pull the trigger. Completely obssessed by a price tag he didn't set. I wish him to go. Price has nothing to do with it he is crap if he cost £3m he would still be crap the guy is an expensive failure

Cant remember you calling him hopeless earlier in the season when he scored vital goals against Porto, West Ham, Boro, Burnley and provided assists for vital goals against City, Palace and Copenhagen.

Vardy misses them, sometimes horrifically so but people can't wait to get in slimani back.

Teams were always going to sit back and let us play it into the box this year, especially if we had Vardy and Okazaki up front. So we needed a big man who could lean on them and hurt them for it. He's proven good at that. Obviously I expect a £30m player to be able to do more than just head it. But he's an improvement on Ulloa, who can't trap a bag of cement. Speaking of, is it time for a thread about Premier League players with a touch like a baby elephant? Leonardo may have scored some important goals (with his head mostly), but I'll be damned if I can understand how a player can get near to that level with such terrible ball control. Slimani's better than that. Just look at Costa's first touch. It ain't great at all and he has the mobility of a truck.

boots60 Posted 18 March 2017 Posted 18 March 2017 I know we all like to back our players especially when they are not doing too good. But £29 MILLION!!!!! Come on He really isn't worth anywhere near that.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 18 March 2017 Posted 18 March 2017 Leo has looked like twice the player for us. The fact that Slim and Musa are ahead of him is scandalous.

ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 18 March 2017 Posted 18 March 2017 He's a good striker and extremely effective.... IF you play to his strengths. Unfortunately, our preferred way of playing doesn't suit him. Ulloa is a cheaper option and adequate as a target man if we need to play that way. If we get an offer of £35m+ from China then I'd defo let Slim go personally.
