only his age puts me off!

Only 29 though. Still get a good few years out of him. But see your point. Never been blessed with pace.

would really like it if we go for amy bensebaini from Rennes. 6'1" 21 year old left footed CB that can even play as a CDM and a LB. Very comfortable in the air and  he is not afraid of the football. He was one of the few bright spots in the AFCON. He will not cost a lot and has experience for a 21 year old and he is a Algerian international

We had a scout at the Ajax game at the weekend I believe?

Should have kept Kante just so we could have Dijks Fuchs Kante

Don't need a LB though. RB and CB yes!

If you watched Swansea against Liverpool, their two new signings Olsson anfd Carroll were outstanding. Now they're not exactly players any if us would be excited by the the prospect of signing, but it does show that a few fresh faces can help galvanize a group. Hopefully we can get a couple more players in.

I'll say again, if Hull are selling with a view to relegation, I'd like us to sign Robertson at LB.

Looks a good prospect with a sweet left foot.

He and Chilwell could be the future of our left defence.

Carl Jenkinson anyone?

He is available. A RB who has played for england at every youth level and just turned 24. Had a couple of seasons in the Premier League with West Ham on loan and fair few games for Arsenal too.

Not a world beater, but I can imagine he wouldn't cost too much upfront (edit: £7 million), and his wages wouldn't be near to what we are paying our top earners (earns 40k at Gunners).

Certainly a position we need, as I don't like the idea of Amartey having to cover SImpson there. Also offers more in attack than Simpson and at 24, reaching his peak hopefully.

Given how desperate we are then yes, I'd take him on loan with a view to a permanent deal in the summer if he impresses.

A centre back who can actually pass it forward so Drinkwater dosent have to drop so dam deep. And a right back who can go forward(and play football).

I think I have given up hope on us being able to sign two starting CB's in this window with so little time left.

So, just one CB and like you said, a RB that doesn't look in a panic everytime the get the ball and pass backwards or hoof.

More concerning, is that Chilwell again didn't look too great at LB and so we will be heavy reliant on Fuchs to rediscover some form.

I though Chilwell was okay. I'd start Chilwell vs Burnley.

I think Chilwell should be given a run of games and LB. Him linking up with Gray would be electric.

But yes. I want the Ramiez deal to go through but if someone said to me we can only sign one more quality player it would be a CB. By a country mile. Our woeful defense is putting too much pressure on the rest of the team. We should have won tonight.
