fox in the sox Posted 27 December 2016 Posted 27 December 2016 With Palace expected to improve under Allardyce, I was hoping Hull/Sunderland/Swansea would continue to struggle. Hull and Sunderland look set to struggle for the whole season but Swansea could pick up if they appoint well. Could this appointment be a major factor in our final position this season?
jim5000 Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 I wouldn't bank on Sunderland being in the bottom three. They are starting to pick up results, and before Man Utd, Moyes was good at organising a solid hard to beat team.
Aus Fox Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 Sunderland much more likely to stay up than Swansea. I don't think they can survive. I expect their owners to bring in a "big name" rather than someone who has a bit of a knowledge of the league to get them out of the Sh it. Come the end of the season I expect Burnley, Boro and Palace to be right down there and scrapping. its hard to see Swansea or Hull surviving they are not only losing but regularly being turned over. the last spot could be anyone of 6 or 7 teams.
Stadt Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 It says it all really that we're depending on Swansea's managerial appointments to keep us in the premier league now. The more I think about it the more I think what a greta big fûck up we made in the summer.
Dan Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 No-one but ourselves holds the key. If we're relying on shit like Swansea or Sunderland to keep us up then we really have shot it.

Although thinking about it - third time round it's usaully gone. And Moyes is a massive loser. Hull are gone. And Swansea. We are safe as houses built on a shifting shore.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 Sunderland look like they want it more than us in recent games. I think Hull and Swansea will go but tough for last place
Tuna Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 Look what we've been reduced to. From Champions to this.

Don't worry the Transfer Window opens in 4 days time and we'll bring in more expensive youth to get us out of trouble......but maybe not this year, the future really is bright.

Sunderland = the new Coventry so we have 30yrs of this.

The Guvnor Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 You would hope that CR and all the backroom staff hold the key to us progressing, the fact some are even suggesting we need three other teams being worse than us to survive just about sum's it all up.

I would like to believe that we can progress but the summer signings and the tactics do not give me hope - that's why we may be relying on others to be even worse. A sad state of affairs but that is the current situation.

This would be about seventh time round though, and unfortunately third time round... well that's us Swansea & Hull aren't gone yet either. I think they'll both go but it's far too early with too little a gap to say they're down yet.
Father Ted Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 Swansea will get Pearson in. Swansea will stay up as a result.
Mike Oxlong Posted 28 December 2016 Posted 28 December 2016 Yeah, and if Accrington Stanley don't go on a spending spree in the next four windows we might be in with a chance of winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in 2019

One season you could stop up with 34 points, another season you could get relegated with 40. It does matter what the other teams are doing.

yorkie1999 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 60 points still to play for, we still could win it!! Seriously though, the players have got to get it into their heads that last year was last year, none of em are untouchable and mr vardy needs to realise that no-ones going to want to watch his movie if he carries on like he is.

At this point it's still entirely in our hands - we've got to rack up enough points in the last 20 games: so long as we start winning and keep winning it makes no difference if Sunderland pick up 20 or 25 more points - just as it didn't matter what spurs did in April so long as we kept closing games out.
