If we're not singing Champions of England, you'll never sing that on the wind-up for the whole 90 minutes I shall be bitterly disappointed.

Probably the most cringe worthy part of the trip to Everton on Saturday.

Thoroughly embarrassing it was.

Hope everyone who plans to sing "Champions of England, you'll never sing that" doesn't get a ticket.

The "Champions of England, we'll sing it till May" I heard at Everton is the way to go. Better than looking that Chumps singing the above version to teams that have won the top flight.

You've to ask yourself what's actually going to wind them up...

Us singing about being current champions for 90 minutes, or an easily refutable Sloop John B rip-off that'll make us look a laughing stock.

If the song was 'Champions of England, you've never sung that', then it would obviously be wrong.

However, 'Champions of England, you'll never sing that', suggests the future. Which is the sentiment, is it not

Be a nice little warm up for Sevilla, despite the fact Sevilla are top ****ing quality.

But, as your man on the last page pointed out, it doesn't sound like that does it? Unless you're going to sing a disclaimer that it's not being sung in reference to past glories as well, then what's the point. Just makes us look embarrassing.

No, just no

How about a compromise... "Champions of England, we'll sing it 'til May/we know what we are"

Followed by...

"AGAIN! You'll never sing that again..."

I appreciate the irony that we'll probably never sing it again either, but we don't have to worry about that for 5 months.

Even if that is the case, Derby could have sang that to us three years ago and ultimately made to look like lemons.

Whatever way you want to look at it, that song is utter trash and belongs in the bin with 'everywhere we go'.

Sorry, haven't read the previous pages.

Sounds to me that it's mocking the opposition that they will never win it in the future. That's how I interpreted it when Chelsea sang it to us during the Great Escape. I don't think a disclaimer is required.

To save any confusion, perhaps the song should be 'Premier League Champions, you'll (you've) never sing (sung) that" as appropriate depending on the opponents.

Or perhaps any song that needs such clarification isn't actually worth singing at all.

Chelsea sang it to us because we hadn't won it.

For those that are not sure when it is OK to apply the 'Champions of England...' song:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_football_champions#Total_titles_won

Personally, it bores me too and is a crap song. I prefer singing something with reference to the match going on while i'm there, getting behind the team.

Another example is the 'We hate Forest...' when we are not playing Derby, Forest or Coventry.

I personally did not hear it but I hope those that did called them out on it.

The people who want to sing "Champions of England You'll Never Sing That" at a team that has, in fact, won it.

You might be having a laugh at an in-joke with your mates, but if this game is on telly, the watching public won't be in on the joke with you, and will think you (and the Leicester supporters as a whole) are a bunch of slow witted, drooling simpletons.

Now... will Vardy be available for this tie, or is he still away at AFCON ?

Basically what I said in my previous post mate a few pages back. Everton have been champions numerous times yet some idiots were trying to sing it to them too. I believe Vardy will be back as Nigeria will be knocked out early on.

When will the TV/ticket info be released?

Looking forward to this one- personally don't dislike Derby too much (maybe that's because I'm from south Leics, we've had the edge on them for a couple of decades and their fans are nowhere near as abhorrent as their red neighbours), but I love the local matches with a big allocation. The trains will be heaving.

I say it my Mrs most weeks, cannot believe how dumb some of our fans are. I said to her on the way up to Goodison that I bet even though they've won the league 8 times people will sing it, and they duly obliged. It's unbelievable that a lot of people think football started in 1992.

The songs this season have been shocking. I personally hate that duh duh duh duh thing its fvking league two.

TV picks are usually before the replays are played. With it being only 2 1/2 weeks away they have to make their decision soon. I'm personally expecting Saturday lunchtime but Friday night is a definite maybe. With the draw so terrible I wouldn't be surprised if the BBC selected us as first pick

I'm pretty sure at this point it's ironic and tongue in cheek. Singing that song to Man Utd and Everton fans, most Leicester fans obviously know they've got almost 30 league titles between them....to our 1.

Is it cringe when Plymouth sing to Liverpool thst they're by far the best team the world has ever seen?

I'm not too fussed tbh either way.

That's subjective. Singing about being champions of England is fact.

And there's no chance we're singing it ironically. We'd do it against literally everyone we play if it was.

The only thing that concerns me is that he might rest players, given the Burnley game a few days after.

This is by no means an easy game. We deservedly lost at Sunderland and Hull, so we need to step it up and show why we're a league above these.
