The only thing that concerns me is that he might rest players, given the Burnley game a few days after.

This is by no means an easy game. We deservedly lost at Sunderland and Hull, so we need to step it up and show why we're a league above these.

There should be no reason to rest a lot of players, just like this Saturday. It was a strong team, yes he changed it up slightly but only 1 or 2 players.

Should be similar for this, play a strong team in the cup and then maybe swap 2 or 3 players for Burnley. Burnley should not be a priority. Hard enough to play there, rather we progress in the cup as a priority.

I agree completely, but managers just don't hold the cup in that regard anymore.

They haven't conceded a goal at home in 8 league games.  Pretty impressive home form.  Really tough game.

none of them games were against the champions of england tho mate

If we put out the side that lost to Porto we will lose again. Derby have a home game against Burton few days later so they can play a strong side. We're away in league so I fear we might line up with the likes of Wasilewski and Hernandez at RB and Ulloa/Okazaki up front together.

silence of the rams

If we take it seriously and field a full strength team then we can win this and progress to the next round.depends on how many players he rests. yes they are very good at home but we are the Premier league side and they will try to mix it up and put in some hard tackles and try to put us under pressure and we need to deal with that.we should have enough in the locker to win this as long as we act professionally. we have a big enough squad to cope with league and cup pressures

Just sing "premiership champions, you'll never sing that" if people are that obsessed with it. Not entirely sure why people get their knickers in so much of a twist and care so much about what other clubs fans will think/say over what songs we sing. So elitist, just enjoy the moment whilst we can because it won't happen again, at least not for a very long time.

For those that are not sure when it is OK to apply the 'Champions of England...' song:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_football_champions#Total_titles_won

Personally, it bores me too and is a crap song. I prefer singing something with reference to the match going on while i'm there, getting behind the team.

Another example is the 'We hate Forest...' when we are not playing Derby, Forest or Coventry.

Oh behave. There is nothing inaccurate about singing it to clubs who won it 100 years ago etc. Titles won then mean next to nothing now. The game was completely different.

The 'you' in the chant obviously refers to the supporters as plural, not the club as singular. So if they won it before anyone in the ground was alive then they have indeed never sang that.

If we are going through all our chants for full and frank accuracy then we will end up with a very small songbook.

I don't believe Iwan Roberts and Julian Joachim were ever next-door neighbours on a social housing estate so I hope that one's not getting an airing at Pride Park either.

I think Krefelder was there first hand to witness the titles in the last 100 years that's why he doesn't like the song.

He is 666 years old

Look forward to the pro-"You'll never sing that" brigade not going apopletctic or claiming it's "embarrassing" when someone sings it to us in future years then...

Forest fans have been singing this for ages too, even sang it to Arsenal in the cup which in return they replied 'champions of Europe, you weren't even born'. lol

Even Arsenal who have never won the European cup? Struggle to see your point. Much easier to sing it about being Champions of Europe as there are only about 5 English Teams to manage that feat.

Funny response though lol

We will just sing back that we've already won the league.

Like everyone who has does to us.

This is why it's pointless.

Well he's hardly going to captain Nigeria to success if he takes that attitude now is he?

Dont understand how anyone's could get annoyed with it.

Likewise I don't understand how anyone could get embarrassed. Do you think the opposition laugh when we sing that we're the greatest football team the world has ever seen?

get over it, football chants are all about giving and taking the piss

Who's having the piss taken out of them if the ones singing it look like inept cretins with no idea about football history though?

Just out of interest, at what point at which a league title was won do those who like it think it's unacceptable to stop singing it - 70, 80s, 90s? Where's your cut off?

Some yes, but I think our lineup on Saturday proves Ranieri was not messing about. Yes Ulloa and Chilwell were in but we had Slimani and Vardy away, so I guess Ulloa was the next best in that lineup.

And Chilwell has held his own so far. I think we have a strong bench when we are at full strength.

This is a great chance for the team to get a cup run going so I am sure Ranieri will not take it lightly. I would be very surprised...

Totally missing the point. The fans singing it to clubs who have a proud history of winning titles are actually of the belief we have won the league and they never have or will because they only think about life after the premier league started. It makes us look ****ing stupid. We might as well sing it to Chelsea at the weekend, it's the same as singing it at Everton. Rubbing it in to a Bournemouth or someone is ok but singing it to teams with more than our solitary miracle is sad and makes us look dumb.

But the main point is that as a frequent traveller, the songs are so shit, and are getting worse, I know I keep saying it but that dud dud duh duh duh duh shit is so cringe it's untrue.

90 minutes straight please gents.

Or, PREMIER LEAGUE champions, you'll never sing that, it's not rocket science. We could sing that to virtuallly every club, that's the point, but instead we sing champions of England which lots of teams have been more times than is which is why its dumb.
