If you want to sing, sing. The clapper myth has been well and truly exposed this season.

What is the 'clapper myth'?

I do find it bizarre that when we have a bad ref the stadium goes nuts YOURE NOT FIT TO REFEREEEEEE etc. But pre match nobody is really that bothered about getting behind the team bar SK1 and a few others.

Not being funny but the whole pre-match thing doesn't work nowadays. Fans just can't be arsed. Go to a rock concert and they'll have a couple of bands on to warm the crowd up and get the adrenaline going, go to a football match and they'll have some crappy music on that makes you feel like going back down stairs. And i know people will say "we'll we should get some songs going, but that's not exactly happening or likely to happen. So there's 2 options, stay as it is, or crank up the volume and stick something on the PA system that everyone, and not just 20 odd fans, will sing along to.

Just sing , only got to listen to the likes of Leeds or Wednesday.

We seem to try everything as a club to dampen things , notably the

withdrawal of the flags. Also the club appears to have a high percentage of

supporters in the Kop of 50 years plus, not known for generating lots of atmosphere

Whilst that won't work. I do think our current song book is  indecipherable to most. I honestly have no idea what being sung in SK1 and I'm only in SK2, because they mostly sound mumbled and robotic, with each word sounding almost the same. Unless you're going to every away game, sat right next to someone singing or actively seek someone out to ask them, the casual fan has no idea and find it impossible to join in.

This is true and SK1 and L1 can sing the same chant in a different tempo and tone. It must be difficult to join in sat between the two. Both are great though.

The KP has a shite atmosphere. All you can here is clap clap clap on the TV, barely hearing the actual chant

Mate, if you want a shite home atmosphere try Everton.....we are still better than most home crowds.

Speakers making cheering noises to annoy opposition fans. When they start chanting turn the speakers up. Just an idea.

Or playing commentary on a different match

Not as bad as Goodison. Everton were embarrassing on Saturday. Even when they scored we were still shouting more than they were

Yeah you're right, certainly needs to be an age cap on the Kop

Introduce a safe standing area.

Would it make a difference though, sounds great in theory but the reality is we've already got a standing area, so what will change. Nothing as a guess

Well if it's a new area then you'd hazard a guess that people that move into that area would be up for a sing song. If we ever get rail seating at the KP then standing in any other areas would be completely stamped out imo, so unless it gets installed in L1 those guys will likely be displaced and will look to move into the rail seating.

I wont get installed in L1 simply because it make the centre of the stand restricted viewing. Then the problem is that, who's going to get displaced?
