This is one that ALWAYS pops up, and it's truly believable when you see the amount of money that treatment costs. But when you look at just how far those treatments have advanced in just a few short years it becomes a bit less believable. Still a great conspiracy theory though and one that is really hard to prove/disprove.

Why would all the countries with nationalised health services like ours now want to keep this a secret, it costs us an absolute fortune and a lot of our governments problems would be solved if we did find a cure for it. No one can seriously tell me nations like Cuba, Russia etc would back up the Israelis and the Yanks had they really found a cure for it, it's a ridiculous theory. Finnegan Posted 18 January 2017 Share Posted 18 January 2017 It's a load of rubbish regards cancer. You can't live with cancer, there's no long term profit to keeping a cancer patient on drugs. I do believe that big pharma has no motivation to "cure" survivable conditions like HIV/AIDS because keeping people medicated for life is both profitable and saves them money on further research. That's not to say research isn't still ongoing but it's clearly not a priority for them. Especially the more it becomes perceived to be a third world problem. I don't even believe that's a conspiracy theory, either, it's just a reflection that globally our healthcare (as a species) is as much slave to capitalism and greed as everything else. There are plenty of people not related to the pharma companies that are looking into "cures", better treatment and so on. From uni's to organisations funded directly by the huge amounts cancer research etc get donated. As with all these things, there's often a grain of truth that gets blown out of proportion. Sure, the pharma companies see money and profit which is where all the stuff comes from. But any "cure" will come from a course of treatment that they will still get paid for anyway. It's highly unlikely to come in the form of "pop this one pill and you're cured".

fazzyfox Posted 18 January 2017 Share Posted 18 January 2017 I don't know if I'm the first to ever suggest this but if the world cup hosting decision is based solely on the criteria that they claim it is, the FIFA delegates visit, the presentation and the technical report then how did Qatar get it? I did like the irony of the FA though, complaining that the ones they'd met and spoken to at the hotel in the early hours of the morning and promised them their votes hadn't been true to their word. leicsmac Posted 18 January 2017 Share Posted 18 January 2017 Big Pharma has a lot to answer for (no new antibiotics in decades whereas getting folks hooked on the latest Viagra derivative or boutique anti depressant is a matter of priority, really?) but a cancer "cure" isn't one of them. Cancers tend to be pretty unique to an individual, so the treatments must be also - there's no possible catch all cure

And you'd make billions by bringing a cure for some cancers to the market first... The big pharma conspiracy theories go off on the wrong track - they don't suppress good data because it's not profitable, they tend to suppress bad data to get something on sale quicker. Are you a person who, when, a calls someone crazy when they propose the idea of a conspiracy. The way I see it, the whole thing of 9/11 set up a great foundation for the powerful nations to use "Islamic extremism" as a scapegoat for deploying military into countries. This I've never ever got the 9/11 ones. Loose Change et al are fantastic at making it look like an inside job (but then you can edit anything to look how you want.) and yet there's no explanation for the above mentioned agents, planning, planting the bombs inside the WTCs. If, as is claimed, the "planes" were just cargo planes, how do you manage to keep hundreds of airline passengers quiet with new lives and identities, or did they kill them all off? And why did flight 93 crash to the ground after being overpowered by the brave passengers if it was an inside job? The fire didn't need to melt the steel, it needed to sufficiently weaken it so that it couldn't support the weight of the floors above. The drywall was blown off on impact, steel weakens, building collapses. It's not that difficult to grasp. Every conspiracy for 9/11 has been thoroughly debunked, and rightly so. Then why the whole WMD reasoning? That might be the way you see it, but it doesn't make sense, the US didn't need to fake an Islamist attack if it wanted to invade the Middle East, it could have gone into Lebanon numerous times a few years before after the barrack bombings, it could have gone into Libya after the Pan-Am bombing, it could have gone into virtually any middle eastern nation for any terrorist attack linked to Hizbollah on Israel. If they were using 9/11 to invade somewhere for political purposes, it would have been Saudi Arabia given the nationalities of the hijackers and they would have chosen a target far more easy to clean up than the WTC and the Pentagon and as footballwipe mentions, had the CIA really been running the show the hijackers wouldn't have been overpowered by a few passengers on the fourth plane. fuchsntf Posted 18 January 2017 Share Posted 18 January 2017 I reckon all the conspiracy theories, are a conspiracy...to keep us away from the true conspiracies. They are hiding the UFOs from us, and our players are all aliens, the earths atmoshere made them super now this season, they have got so use to it, and they have lost their powers. Its so simple, but how else do you explain Vardy, Huth and made up names like Drinkwater...
leicesterlad1989 Posted 18 January 2017 Share Posted 18 January 2017 I love a conspiracy theory. It doesn't matter how ridiculous, I always find them interesting. Some of them I have an inkling to lean towards more than others based on the evidence that is presented. That doesn't mean I believe everything but I do think a lot of 'conspiracies' flag up interesting points. I still think there are a lot of unanswered questions on what happened on 9/11 however I will have a look at the Debunking911 website later. On the flip side I have a friend at work who is adamant that no human has even been into space what so ever and that the Space Station doesn't exist.
