If he's looked less than great recently it's because he's playing in a team currently devoid of any form and consistency. He can piss of to China in June if he's that keen.

Keep selecting him in the team regardless and watch him sulk and play badly. B. Bench him/drop him from the squad completely and make him pick up his £80k or whatever for doing nothing. C. Take the £40M and put it down to experience. In all three options, we lose a decent striker, in the third though we get suitable compensation. If the numbers quoted have any truth, he'll go. If he doesn't go, it's because the story is a load of crap.

I think any move would have to be on hold until the end of the season at the very least...
