Slimani to China?

I would sell for that amount but we need to replace him. I worry we could be forced to panic buy at this stage, which is one reason I would keep him

This will be interesting, I imagine he's probably on about 50-70k a week here max. Offers of 300k (not sure what china's tax regime is like) a week would turn anyone's head. Especially when he hasn't completely fit in here. For the record I rate him and think he's our best striker this year but 38m is alot of money. My concern is how we reinvest it quickly enough.

Didn't they reject a 30m bid from us this summer for him? Be suprised if they let him go for that amount

Can't remember think it was all media hyped than actually put a bid in wouldn't mind trying to get Gabriel borbosa on loan or sneaky bid for Sturridge even if on loan with option to buy at end of season

1) He was a panic buy, making a profit on him is unbelievable and would be the only good thing about and justifiable thing about him.

2) We need quite a few players in, I do expect players to come in before Tuesday but anyone who comes in now is a panic buy and probably, sadly ain't gonna go well.

Exactly, i could imagine it being a harder decision for pretty much all the English players as 99% of them haven't had to up route there family to another country... for any foreign import I'd say it's an easy decision though ££££

Fair play. I got the point but china is a big change. I guess having said that algeria to england is too.

I dont think we can sell if we dont have a replacement coming in (because musa and vardy are not doing it for us either).

Don't think he was a panic buy. Especially when it took a while to get him in

I'd worry where we'd get the goals from if we sold Slimani. However, the other side to it is that our strikers aren't flowing with goals at the moment anyway due to the way we're playing. We haven't yet got the best out of Slimani due to the lack of service but the same could be said for Vardy and Musa.

If we changed our style, (even as an alternative style) to free flowing passing and wing play, our strikers would be scoring far more and we'd start to see the best of what our attacking players have to offer. Gray and Mahrez are two key examples who have ability in possession but because we are not a possession based team, we aren't seeing their full potential. This is also why we are lacking creativity because our attacking, creative players aren't getting on the ball enough, you could argue.

I think we've yet to see the best of Slimani so wouldn't want to lose him unless we have better options lined up. However, besides the money I think whatever Mahrez plans to do in the summer may have a bearing on this. Mahrez was on at him for a long time to come join him at Leicester but if he's now planning to move on soon then maybe that'll make Slimani consider this a move well worth thinking about.

On the phone to my old boss the other day who is a Manure fan and in a state of panic he declared "China wants Salami, China want Salami!". I nearly died.

If we are honest I think most people would be surprised to see Mahrez here past the summer even before the shower of shit season.

If people think that's slims final destination in English football is us as well you could be shocked in the summer.

Surely we can squeeze even more out of them if they're so desperate to sling money around.

Or cant we offer them Ulloa for £15m? That'd be ideal.

I agree with you on point but it is a case of the devil you know. He does offer something, probably £30 million pound worth but it is better at present than any other options we have.

On point 2, I agree but hope we are both wrong!

Yeah let's sell our top scorer, top assister while we can and hope to buy some new shit in the next 4 days. If we can't get anyone in at least we have Vardy and Shinji, who are both in excellent form, to fall back on. All good! Really love judging players on a handful of games, especially when they have accumulated half of our points and still deciding that they are shit. Wow, these blue tinted specs are nice, think I'll keep them on, they make Vardy and Shinji actually look like a goal threat, and I can carry on pretending that Vardy is a true blue and every bit the player of last season until I'm blue in the face. Typical foxes talk: Slimani, proven to be statistically our best forward player, has had just the same lack of service, worse actually, than Vardy but wait, he's new, cost us more than two bob so let's sack him off and keep an out of form, fame hungry, couldn't give a shit Vardy playing 90 minute of football week in week out and only taking 8 touches per game, never closing down and never doing any work. Wicked, all sorted then.

If they really are willing to pay him £300k a week then the decision may not be in our hands anyway- depends how important money is to Slim.

China is just the new Russia.

If people aren't watching because the standard is dross, then it'll soon fade out as a fad.

You can only have 3 non Chinese players per team. That means 8 players on your team play are Chinese and respectfully they are ranked sub 100 in the FIFA world rankings. They are 77th on the ELOnrankings though, which is arguably a better system / method.

That aside, what standard are the players when compared to English leagues? League 2? Conference?

Would you go and play at Conference Level for £1,000,000 if you were offered it. Of course you would.

Would people turn up to watch you after the hype had gone. Not really.

It's not sustainable. The Premier Leagye has money. What does China have?

A lot more money.

Seriously who would turn down that sort of money?

I'd go to play for Antarctica FC for that sort of dosh.

He wasn't a panic buy. We scouted him for about 2 years.

You never know, Deeney could have asked for a release clause in his new contract incase he ever did want to leave.

What about Welbeck on loan? Might struggle to get into Arsenals team and will want game time.

We do not need the money.  We really don't.  It would be nuts to sell him unless we had no option.  I'd almost rather see Vardy go.  We've got the money to get Deeney now if we fancied it and he was prepared to come.  I can't see any positives if Slim goes to China.

I don't want Slim or Vardy to go - I have a feeling Vardy will click on the run in.  We just need to play a team that suit Slim or Vards.  We seem to play the team and tactics that suits Slim, but when Vardy is playing and vice versa.  How many crosses yesterday?!

Deeney has said quite publicly that he didn't want to come here - felt there were too many big time Charlies.  Seems to have been a pretty insightful comment!  Also, he likes being the big fish in a small pond by the sounds of it.

PS - I'm a Leam boy myself!

TIANJIN BID £38M FOR SLIMANI

Sources in China are saying that Tianjin Quanjian have made a £38m bid for Leicester striker Islam Slimani.

The player will reportedly earn £300,000 per week if the moves goes ahead, however, Sky Sources here in the UK have made it clear that Leicester are not interested in selling the player they bought on Deadline Day in August, for a club-record fee of £29m.

It's yet to be seen whether Tianjin or another Chinese club come back with a bigger offer, but we've been told unless it is "extraordinary", Leicester will reject any approach. They are looking to add to their squad in the final few days of the window, and don't want to lose someone they regard as a key player.
