Slimani to China?

It was the first thing they'd mention once they established you were a Leicester fan. They genuinely feared his quality, alongside that insane record he has against them. There was almost a little respect there for him.

Interestingly one Porto fan mentioned they had a signed a player from Belgium with similar physique and attributes in attempt to copy Slimani's success in Portugal but he'd been rubbish.

Sounds like the player from Belgium did a better impression than he realised.

Just crunched some numbers

PL with Slim: W4 D3 L6 (1.15 points/game)
PL without Slim: W1 D3 L5 (0.67 points/game)

All comps with Slim: W7 D3 L6
All comps without Slim: W3 D4 L8

Some people here are quite keen to see us get relegated then

I imagine most on here don't care about stats and would rather see us try and play like last season all the way to the Championship.

Maybe they agreed to pay the high fee to get the best out of mahrez and secure his future long term given at the time he was rated as one of th best players in the league.

That hasn't worked out so maybe some thought will be given IF a serious offer come in

Why the **** can't they be interested in Okazaki or Ulloa.

Because they have a quota on overseas players. Each Chinese club is only allowed 3 non-Chinese players in their starting XI, so they have to go for the very best they can get. Rules changed this year, they used to allow one Asian non-Chinese player in addition to that quota, so they probably would have been keen on Okazaki to fill that slot. Now he counts as one of the three overseas players allowed.

But if the Chinese scouts came on here, they would see that Slimani is no better than Ulloa or Okazaki :P

I think you are bang on. Signing Slimani had an added bonus of keeping Mahrez happy. Hasn't really worked out and Riyadh attitude suggest he may still want a move. £40m for Slim would be good business if we replace him with someone decent. I would love Rondon but unlikely maybe we should go in again for Deeney?

6 goals and 4 assists in 1240 minutes

2 goals vs Burnley in a 3-0 win (3 points)

The winning goal vs Porto (3 points)

The winning assist vs Copenhagen (3 points)

Last minute pen to drew boro 2-2 (1 point)

2 assists vs man city (3 points)

And the winning goal vs west ham (3 points)

I don't know about you. But, that is a pretty good return if you ask me.

What is wrong with people?

Slim = top scorer, works hard, shows a bit of grit.

We knew when we bought him he isn't a man of finesse and skill, he is a target man, a brutal one at that judging by his record. Rather than moan about Slim, why isn't anyone moaning about why we are not utilising our single best striker to his strengths, ie. playing with width and swinging balls into the box, consistently. Some deluded souls on here if they think Slimani is shit, I would suggest some learn about the different roles and abilities of strikers, what they require from their team mates for success, learn about tactics etc because clearly people on here assume that you just buy a striker, put him on the pitch and he puts the ball in the back of the net, regardless of the other 10 team-mates, tactics, service etc. We could sign Aguero and he's be 'shit' because the rest of the team would have no idea how/when to play the ball to him, support him, get the best out of him. A strikers woes, especially one with such a dominant record, are not down to the striker, they are down to the team ethic and ability to provide the right service nine times out of ten.

Id sooner bin Vardy, it's almost Feb and we are still trying to lump balls over the top to him to play off the last man - A. This no longer works, every team in the Country is wise to it. B. It shows Vardy to be a bit of a one trick pony. C. His work ethic has been utter bollocks. If we are going to single players out and moan about them lets at least pick the right ones and take off the blue-tinted spectacles.

I pity anyone that thinks we will stay up with just Vardy and Okazaki in their current state. Very limited options with both, neither can head a ball so it negates any wide play, crossing, corners, free-kicks.

Bloody Chinese Whispers!!

well one of our other summer signings has buggered off already now to test slim shady's loyalty wil he stay or will he go??

He is not about the money. He refused to play in the middle east and choose sporting because he is about the challenge not the money.

So we had 30m off owners, plus 12m for schlupp. Plus potential of 39m here and 1.7m for hernandez. Total of 82.7m.

Bought

Ndidi 15m, after add ons leaves around 65m.

Possibilities.

Ramirez 15m, after add ons 47m.

Acerbi 15m, after add ons 30m.

With this 30m maybe a bit more if we can get more for slimani,  we can go for martinez/Keane or both, Burnley spending money so could sell for 20-25m. And maybe late bid for brady as I still believe we are interested, and Joe Hart contact ready for a summer move. As probable kasper deal already dobe for around 15-20m.

I think Claudio will be seriously considering this and trying to squeeze 45m out, for more funds for Keane, this also keeps ulloa happy with more game time, and maybe okazaki too.

To me mahrez will be leaving in summer to arsenal i think and kasper to liverpool, slimani will get unhappy and we will be wishing we sold.

But I think he is class and hope we keep him and build around him to keep team improving, and hope mahrez stays too. Kasper will definitely leave in my opinion, sadly, but leave as a legend forever for us and our fans.

Martinez doesn't play for Tianjin, I think it's a poorly worded tweet unless Gangzhou and Tianjin have a weird co ownership situation

Ah right, didn't realise

Reads to me as though we'll sell Slim and then go for Martinez with the money.

Regardless, as long as Riyad is here I don't think Slimani will leave. Riyad is very persistent at nagging his Algerian friends regarding whether to accept potential transfers.

From what I gather from people that follow Martinez more closely than I, that would be a big mistake. Gone really downhill since Porto and 30.

So 30 + crap = big contract.

Done deal then.
