My guess is if someone was to pay some of you even £100 grand or more a year to work in China you wouldn't stomach it for long. For one there is no such thing as clean air there. No such thing as clean air in London either

ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 27 January 2017 Posted 27 January 2017 Sounds like Tianjin Quanjian are about to sign Pato so that might be the end of their Slimani interest
HankMarvin Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 PATO CASHES IN Chelsea flop Alexandre Pato joins Tianjin Quanjian for £15.4m and £4.7m a year in wages Brazilian striker becomes the latest high profile figure to fill his boots in the moneybags Chinese Super League

Why are they signing such dross for such high wages. Ridiculous. I know the Premier League started it, but least our signings made sense. This is just silly.
Jattdogg Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 If i had say 10 or 20 million sitting in my bank there is no way id go to China. Money isnt everything and if im getting millions in england or spain etc then good enough. Rather play in a real league with real fans and real cheating cvnt refs.

I mean the Premier League in general, ones in their prime or recruiting young talents etc. The Premier League took years to get where it is. China are trying to do it inside a few. China are mainly buying players at the end of their career but for huge wages and fees. It's the wrong way to go about things. All short-termism. They should be patient and build top acadamies and try making the chinese league a lot more attractive that way. I can't see how giving salaries of 650k p/w for 32 year old, fading players will ever achieve anything, other than a league that simply cannot function or have a long-term future. As the Premier League shows, salaries will only ever go up. If Tevez gets 650k p/w then Rooney will want 700k p/w.. They have set the bar so ridiculously high, it will never be able to sustain it and this "bright" idea of attracting some "top" players in an effort to try reproduce the Premier League, is just absurd.
Sly Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 China is just the new Russia. If people aren't watching because the standard is dross, then it'll soon fade out as a fad. You can only have 3 non Chinese players per team. That means 8 players on your team play are Chinese and respectfully they are ranked sub 100 in the FIFA world rankings. They are 77th on the ELOnrankings though, which is arguably a better system / method. That aside, what standard are the players when compared to English leagues? League 2? Conference? Would you go and play at Conference Level for £1,000,000 if you were offered it. Of course you would. Would people turn up to watch you after the hype had gone. Not really. It's not sustainable. The Premier Leagye has money. What does China have?

Lambert09 Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Genuinely think he is our only hope of consistent goals this season. We we must play to his strengths not force Vardy into the squad. 433 with mahrez and gray on either side works for me. Hoping we see this at Burnley
NewquayFox Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Can they take Vardy instead as his passion, fight, awareness, speed and heart for Leicester City have gone now....

hairmetalgamer Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Tianjin quanjian already have their quota for non Chinese players, if they get slimani then they will have to offload some

dbtcity Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 People who try to look at this from a sporting side have got it all twisted... you think slimani signed for us to enhance his career or to line his pocket? Football is nothing more than a job to these guys, if you're already living in a different country doing a job and some1 comes in and offers to double /triple your wage to move to another country to do the exact same job in a less demanding environment you'd go... if you say you wouldn't i call BS, you look at costa who's been earning a mega wage for years and still had his head turned, I can only imagine someone like slimani who's only really been getting a decent wedge for a few years would be all over it

If i already had millions to be happy for life there is no way id leave my friends and family and what i enjoy doing. I guess if it was a 1 year contrct for mega money perhaps id do it but money doesnt always buy happiness no matter how much you have. Mo money mo problems. To each their own

He's just moved to England so he won't be a leaving old friends or family, a footballers life cycle is short so they take what they can so even when retired they're well stacked to carry on living the lifestyle they've come accustomed to... millions probably isn't that much when you take into account they eat at top restaurants, wear the most expensive clothes/jewellery, have the newest super cars that come out etc etc a few million to us compared to a few million to them are poles apart

To each their own I think you're missing dbtcity's point. He probably already has left the lifestyle, family and friends behind already to some extent. Not as far as going to China but he's already living in another country away from friends and family is the point.

Exactly, i could imagine it being a harder decision for pretty much all the English players as 99% of them haven't had to up route there family to another country... for any foreign import I'd say it's an easy decision though ££££
