If he goes we should be able to get someone better for far less money.

Not getting at you mate but I love it when people say this ....     they make it sound as easy as walking your trolley down the 'Quality professional footballer (Striker)' aisle in a supermarket ...     :nono:

Ranieri's press conference - Then on reports linking Islam Slimani with a move to the lucrative Chinese Superleague, he added: "It’s speculation. Slimani is not for sale".

There's no way that we can risk letting him go at this point of the window knowing how long it would take us to get someone else in (maybe 2 if we let ulloa go too!).

If he wants to go, he can in the summer.

Missed the press conference so when you say he's off lcfcfox do you mean Slim or Claudio or maybe both ?

Claudio's expressions gave me the impression, if an offer substancial comes in for Slimani, he will be leaving this window, I think, personally he will go and we will get an offer in the region of 40-45m

Slightly stereotypical but I could see him winning a few headers against defenders in that league

Why sell slim I think it's ludicrous decent. Player. 5 days to sign 2CB and a striker if slim and ulloa goes its crazy.

In his first season here. Yet still people slate him.

I can only see him getting better and better.

Agree with you on this. H will get better in fact he will be a beast for us

I hope that he's in it for the money and I hope he goes if we can get anywhere near the sort of money being talked about (probably all paper talk though). IMHO he is nowhere near a £28-30m player.

If he goes we should be able to get someone better for far less money. Problem will be getting someone in before the window 'slams shut'.

Possibly so but when you see the fees being commanded for some championship players these days then you do wonder how much it would cost to get a decent replacement in - I hope your right though and I do like the sound of Martinez!

£40m is no good to us if we get relegated.

It might be for the best. We could rebuild with the emphasis back on the words "team" "fearless" and "in your faces".

And, if we return to the Premiership, learn from all the daft mistakes we've made.

No, the reports of H and arsenic related to an accident when he was having hiis back, sac and crack done.

Absolute ridiculous bit of business this late on in the window unless we have a real super striker who's actually gone under the ITK's radars then selling Slim now is utter madness wa just don't have the cover for him unless we're going to blood some of the younger players?(mind you with some performances of late they might do a better job!!)

The last few days of the window often looks like desperation bids on players that will be underrated and well over priced players you wouldn't normally think of signing, but where the hell are our super signings that the so called ITK's keep spouting off aboutwell ones off to Watford and I hope it's a case of glad we didn't sign him rather than shit how the fook did we let that one slip past us ??!!

This window has been so underwhelming and  thinking that our powers to be think the squad we currently have can dig their way out of this lower table pile of stinking sh-it position as most of us think not especially that so called professional football display at Southampton!

Claudio do what we hope you can do and sort this shoddy bunch out buy a decent couple of players who can help get us out of this mess give us fans some hope that we are going to fight for our premier league survival and not roll over and let the rest tickle our Bellies !!

What has happened to our astounding superstars of last season kick jeckyl and Hyde into touch and bring our Champions Back !!:scarf:

Slimani  is totally ruthless in the air, one of best I've ever seen. OK, he ain't great with his feet. So what? As long as he scores.

He came here because of Mahrez, among other reasons. I don't believe for one minute he will go to China. If he does. He wont last very long there, due to cultural differences.

Money is not everything. My guess is if someone was to pay some of you even £100 grand or more a year to work in China you wouldn't stomach it for long. For one there is no such thing as clean air there.

Slimani is very good at attacking a ball with his head, as for winning flick ons etc he is useless. For me I would cash in on him for 40 Mill and try and sign a number 10 with the money. We only need one forward and somebody with creativity will help Vardy and Mahrez getting marked out the game.

Are you not aware that Slim is fluent in Mandarin and studied Post Mao China Studies at Algiers University?? You've made an awful lot of assumptions about Slim's cultural leanings!!!

that goes a long way in some parts of china. I think you will be crushed in the rush if you were offering that. as for a player from n Africa with a big family - think about it
