Ok this is blato not going to happen.

I can't say I'd be especially gutted if he did leave though. He's no better than Ulloa.

Don't agree. Infinitely better. Just had a form drop recently like most of them. Feed slimshady and he will score.

I really rate Slimani, based upon what he achieved at his previous club, but also what he has achieved with us.  I like his determination and grit, which is sorely lacking with many of other players at present.  Sporting Lisbon fans loved him for a reason and were very sorry to see him leave.  I can't believe people are already writing him off and suggesting they'd be happy to see him go at a very modest (and therefore completely irrelevant) profit.

I agree with you why sell slimini it's ridiculous. If we keep selling players we will have no team

Big risk if Vardy gets injured or suspended though. I think this is just China chucking bids in for whoever. We don't need the money and not sure Slimani would want to leave after only 5 months in the biggest league in the world. They can have Ulloa for the same price though

You don't have a 30m striker playing second fiddle in case the main man gets injured... on the flip side you don't have a 100k striker doing the same... the 30m should have been lumped on a quality busy number 10

You do in this day and age of the Premier League. I also think Claudio planned to play them together and probably still hopes to.

Hasn't worked out as a pairing yet but nothing has worked yet as every player has been so poor.

Without Slimani's goals we would have been worse off in the Champions League and the league table.

5 months in, he is our top goal scorer and top assist striker too.

Whole team has been well below par, so imagine the goals he could score in a fully functioning team in good form.

I'm going to revisit this thread and call a load of you guys out who wanted to sell him, if he goes on and scores more important goals for us. I'll also welcome being called out if he doesn't too! I'm confident though. He is a goal scorer and has an incredible record.

Keep him, get the system right and players back to form and he will score more goals.

Musa is the one I expect to see in China by next season.

even China don't want to pay for a player that's more miss that hit

I think for someone of his stature, his hold up and his link up play is disappointing. Also 'what do other strikers do?'. I think you know the answer to that. For instance watch a top class striker like Aguero or Suarez. They create as many chances as they score. Take Vardy last season. He was constantly releaving pressure, winning throw-ins and free kicks etc.

Take Vardy this season, utter shit, total shit. Can't hear anyone wanting to sell him though? Loyalty should work both ways, if Vards is going to continue putting in zero effort I'd rather sell and keep Slimani.

China are pretty much our only hope if we get relegated. Wes Morgan for 20m? Cheers.

Obviously you didn't read my original thread as not once have I said to sell him, I rate the guy and imo he should be starting ahead of vardy if we're going down the 1 striker route which we should be as either slim or vardy playing in behind the other is nothing but wasted ...... that being said I still stand by the whole you don't have a 30m/100k a week striker as back up

And I'd agree with. If you look back further in the thread you'll see that I defended Slimani and said we have to get the best out of him. He'll score many goals given quality service, I was just pointing out some of his lesser qualities.

Ok not read this thread properly as I'm in a rush but just seen the tweet which I'm assuming is why this thread has been started.

Well he is currently our best striker with his 6 goals and he also has the best scoring record of anyone in our squad with almost 1 goal every 2 games in his career.

So your argument is, sell players now so we don't have to deal with them if we get relegated...?

Crazy.

That and the fact that he's shit.

Okazaki for me. A big name in Asia it would make sense for a Chinese team to want him. I realize he's Japanese before anyone says anything :)

Top Scorer and top in assists and people want to ship him off. Yeah at times he couldn't trap a baby elephant, but used correctly he'll be a decent player. We need to start using our players properly and getting the best out of them... that's down to the manager.

Let's be honest Slimani was a panic buy by the Claudio and the owners without a thought as to how he would fit into the team and not whether he could play with Vardy as a partnership. he is a good player yes but we payd way too much for him. if it is not working out with him and he isn't starting games then get the money back that we payd for him and buy someone who can play with Vardy and is a regular goalscorer and a regular in the first team. if the long term plan is Slimani starting games regularly then keep him but if he continues on the bench then we might as well sell and get our money back

get rid for £40m - how often do you get a chance to move someone on after 3 months after finding out he's really very average and with a £10m profit - result...

I really really like him and I love his attitude but if we're going to sign Jackson Martinez for a fraction of the cost and if we spend the difference on defenders then I think we have to accept it.

He's clearly not very average.
