Don't believe the 400k a week thing for a second. That's probably a month, they offered payet 600k per month and he is a much bigger name

After Graziano Pellè’s move from Southampton to Shandong Luneng was completed this week, he will be, depending on whom one believes, anything from the third to the 10th best-paid player in the world. Reports indicate he will earn £34m over the course of two and a half years, breaking down to something like £260,000 a week.

That was last year.

The club in question

Tianjin Quanjian, a club recently promoted to China’s top league and coached by former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro.

Italian media quoted Witsel this week saying that he had turned down a chance to join Juventus after receiving “a crucial offer for my family that I couldn’t turn down” from Tianjin.

AXEL WITSEL is the maddest example yet that money has gone mad in China.

The Belgium star has agreed a move to Tianjin Quanjian where he is set to net a stonking salary of 18 million Euros a year – which comes in at a tick under £300,000 a week!

1- :D:D. Is vardy a clinical finisher, no!. Does he have a great positioning, no!. Is he an aerial threat, no! is he a good dribbler, not! . Is he hard to mark,no!. Is he great with his weak foot, no!. I am not saying that slimani is all those but, don't act like vardy is not all pace.

Oh come on! This is garbage.

Think he was pretty clinical last season.

Played of last shoulder brilliantly, so good positioning.

Not really in the team to be a dribbler but carried Ball from half way to score at West brom.

Score goals to get back to the prem. Score goals for the great escape. Score goals to win PL title. Turn down move to Arsenal. Get slated on FT. Jeez.

I don't think he's settled that well here. He hasn't learnt the language, and a number of the players don't seem overly enamoured with him. I imagine he'll be very keen to do this, this'll be a life changing amount of money and if the club can get £40m plus a replacement in I imagine they'll be happy to do it.

I was not slating him. I was telling the truth. He is a good finisher but not clinical, positioning is more than playing of the last shoulder and getting the ball for half way is not dribbling.

I thought we were mad paying 30 million for him, so if someone is willing to offer 40 million plus then I would accept, although my lack of trust in Claudio to find a replacement considering his purchases in the last 18 months is a different matter. Shows how ridiculous the 1.7 mil offer for Ulloa was by Alaves, is Slimani over 20 times more valuable!?

No. And it would be 23.529 times more valuable, ridiculous

You have to admit it will be pretty funny if more than 1 of our summer signings leaves this month but unless they offer us mental money I can't see it happening.

Tevez is reportedly on £615,000 a week so I wouldn't say it's too far fetched that a Chinese club offer Slim 400.

People say he can't play for 3 clubs in one season.  Surely that rules out this move as he's already played for us and Sporting?

No way should he be allowed to go, in this Window.

Summer we will have a different perspective. So will he..

He could still be a FA-cup and CL hero. Then he could even ask for more.

Go out as a legend, with 2 medals..

Isn't that a European rule?

Anyway i I think this would be a big mistake, as I reckon we'll also lose RIyad if Slim leaves

FFS these numbers are insane, it's getting sillier every year.

6 goals and 4 assists in 1240 minutes

2 goals vs Burnley in a 3-0 win (3 points)

The winning goal vs Porto (3 points)

The winning assist vs Copenhagen (3 points)

Last minute pen to drew boro 2-2 (1 point)

2 assists vs man city (3 points)

And the winning goal vs west ham (3 points)

I don't know about you. But, that is a pretty good return if you ask me.

especially when you consider how awful the team is performing. Imagine his impact in a team actually playing well!

It is not £40 million. It is 40 million Euros = £34 million. Less than £5 million profit for what we paid for him.

Crazy to sell and have less than a week to replace him or have to rely on an out of form Vardy or Okazaki and an unhappy Ulloa, neither of whom have ever been prolific.

He has been here 5 months, played 16 games, yes 16!!  He's done more than any of our other strikers and still people have written him off.

Oh well he'll fit right in in China then won't he...

Even less when when you consider the signing on fee he would of been given...

Carrying the ball from the half way line is.

He took up a great position back post against Soton and was ignored.
