nettle Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Schmeichel Wague Benny Huth Chilwell Ndidi Mendy Mahrez Drinky Gray Slimani That's what I'd go for get Drinkwater further up pitch so he can't go long.
Winchesterfox Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 I don't care about the score on Sunday. I want to see my team fight for each other and fight for every ball and have to fight to keep their place in the side. I want to see them pressing and tackling and getting in the opposition's faces and getting the crowd on its feet. I want them to look fit and lean and hungry. I want them to keep pushing themselves to be the best they can be. I want to feel that they play because they love the game, and not because of the money. I want to see them score and lose themselves in the moment, and to hear the roar of the crowd and feel the terraces shake. I want them to be disappointed when they are substituted, and to crawl off the pitch after 90 minutes because they have nothing else to give. Win or lose, I want them to be honest about their performance and learn from it. And above all, I want to feel that they care as much as the fans.
UPinCarolina Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 I want Kaputska on the bench, and as a sub. Give me the players with something to prove.
TheLittleBigMan Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Just don't make me sh*t my pants for 90 mins.
TheLittleBigMan Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 5000 - 1 a bird sh*ts in Ashley Young's mouth.
norwichfox Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 This Sunday could see us in the bottom 3, 8 points behind Bournemouth in 14th place with Hull just 1 point behind us.....it's frightening. We must somehow bolster the defence as this season could see a team relegated on goal difference.
Rusko187 Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Anyone feel confident about Sunday.... in fact any game in February?

somebum Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Resounding win for Utd, they will get a penalty or two. All very well saying our players will actually try for the cameras but every game is practically live now.

During his very short time on the pitch, aside from the booking, he did at least get a couple of shots on target. Suggests the guy has a desire to prove himself.

I felt confident we'd get something at Burnley. I was clearly talking out my arris. I just can't see us beating Utd. They can't score recently (surely a top striker will be top of their shopping list next season..a younger target man) but I get a horrible feeling that will change when they play us.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 4-1-4-1 providing Slimani is fit. King has a tendency of popping up with important goals just when we need it. Unsure how Mahrez would do at LM in this system, but for me Albrighton needs to be at RM when Slimani is playing. I've want to see Mendy sit in front of the defence in a formation like this, that's where he played for Nice I believe and he did very well in that position. Hopefully Slimani's return will be a boost for us. Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Huth Chilwell Mendy Albrighton King Drinkwater Mahrez Slimani

I agree Col they will definately find their scoring boots against us we are awesome for that. i just hope as Winchesterfox says we can show some fight at last not holding my breath as they are overpaid let downs this season

I do hope we don't witness another performance with about as much punch as a wet fart.

They were in the exact same scenario before our last game, and they were 4 nil up by half time, 3 from corners. I am dreading this.

Guest LCFC_World Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 I was watching a repeat of this fixture last year and the difference in the way we play is mind blowing. From the off we were closing them down. None of our players ever stopped running. We played fast counter attacking football from the defence (Vardys record breaking goal). You don't see that anymore. We're slow, hoofing the ball forward and giving up to easily. If we play that way on Sunday were gonna lose, and if we play that way for the rest of the season we are relegated.

We're sadly known to be the team to play against if someone needs a confidence boost nowadays.
Wymsey Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Defending set-pieces effectively will be crucial for this game imo. Haven't seen anyone more of a constant nuisance striker in the air than Ibrahimovic.
Bossman Blessed It Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Winchester Fox was spot on. The KP needs to be a fortress from now until the end of the season. Two seasons ago we showed what it takes to beat a talented United side; grit, fight, determination and playing dirty when you have to. Mourinho was scathing after their draw and the pressure will certainly be felt by their players which means that if we're aggressive enough we might be able to rattle them a bit. Absolutely no doubt that we will allow them to ping every ball they'd like to Ibrahimovic's giant forehead, Wes will do that strange star jump thing he does and only reach Ibra's lower shoulder blade in doing so, it will be 2-0 at 65 minutes and they'll close out the game with that absolute clown of Lingaard managing to find the net for good measure. We'll all walk home feeling like Les Ferdinand just struck a free kick into our midriff and, undoubtedly, The Guardian will roast our entire club like the cute little marshmallows we are at the moment.
