It seems a lot of the problems on the field are being caused by a lot of off field disruption, a power struggle. We aren't all pulling in the same direction like we were under Pearson and last season, that seems obvious

He's got enough credit with the club and its owners, I'd say. He'll more likely "retire" at the end of the season, regardless of the outcome of our PL survival struggles.

Nobody has enough credit to get relegated.

CR is not bigger than the club that we should just allow it to save him the embarrassment of a sacking.

I think it's only a matter of time before he goes. I reckon the only reason he's still here is that the owners haven't found a replacement yet. It is sad to see its ended like this and regardless of what happens he will always be a legend and nobody will ever replicate what he achieved here. I really want him to turn it round but it's not looking likely and he does seem like a broken man. Wouldn't surprise me if we've enquired about Rafa

thats true, i doubt the club would want to sack him since hes probably got a clause or something that will mean he gets a good few million,

They could easily afford any clauses, expecially in comparison to the cost of going down

Can't see him getting sacked, but also can't see him retiring, did he not get a big new contract in the summer?

Been chatting this morning to someone who has a casual business relationship with some current and ex (mostly fringe) players. He was reminding me that he had told me the players were completely underwhelmed by the appointment and in the early weeks openly disrespected Ranieri. The general feeling is Pearson and team had created such a momentum and well oiled machine in the great escape that they didn't need that much to change( as per Ranieri quotes). It seems that as players opinions of themselves have risen and the Pearson framework has eroded so the disrespect has surfaced again. Personally I find it hard to believe a team can win a league without respect for the manager.

Whatever the truth the players are showing a lack of professionalism

They are being awful towards not only Ranieri  but also the whole club including us fans

total disrespect

Maybe.

But given the title win last season I can see him having a lot more credit than your "Regular Joe" on the sidelines, and our owners usually are pretty patient. Even with Pearson, there was a point in time where he was close to getting the axe, then the decision was withdrawn. In Ranieri's case, a "retirement" would save a lot of people's faces.

Ranieri has led City to the greatest achievement in it's history, the history of English football and arguably one of the greatest achievements in football worldwide.  History would judge us as the most ungrateful club in the world were he to get sacked the next season and it wouldn't be a stigma we would easily lose.

For most of our players he has led them to an achievement that will be the pinnacle of their playing careers.  Some of them may not like his style but any decision to perform half-heartedly on that basis reflects badly on them, not him.

Very true. Sacking Ranieri after last year would be huge step by the owners. It would have a detrimental effect on there positive media profile. Something they would never want to do.

With that, could these quotes have been released by someone close to or at board level? Say we lose badly to United, he could be on the brink. Had all this not been revealed, a sacking would be based solely on his performances this season. Despite us being pathetic at times, they could still be at risk of being called ungrateful by idiots in the media like Robbie Savage who do not have a clue.

If they sack him now after all this has been revealed it makes a little bit more understandable than had they sacked him based on the results alone. It gives the impression he has lost control and the results show that. All ifs and buts but not completely out of the question.

It would be left on much better terms if he resigned himself, as opposed to the club sacking him. I can't see either to be honest, and from now on in given what's come out recently in the media, it will go either way. Players will either get their act together and try to make a real effort to get ourselves in a better position, or the lacklustre performances & results will continue, in which relegation will be the likely outcome.

I'm with you on that. Hindsights a wonderful thing but I wish we told Vardy no increase and if you're not happy, go. At the time I wanted him to stay but the knock effect to succumbing to his request has had a detrimental effect on every player.

Sonny Liston once said it's harder to get out of bed for your 6am runs when you're wearing silk PJ's. We are seeing that this season with a lot of players.

Mickeyblueeyes, after our spat earlier in the season, I totally agree with you on the Vardy scenario. Hes got his deal woth £25m, his hunger and focus have gone.

Some insight, Vardy is acting billy big bollocks, and a lot of players arent having him. In fact most, including Mahrez, Drinkwater, Morgan and Kasper. Theres your poison. Vardy is lacking the professionalism and doesnt have the repsect for Ranieri.

Cheers for this, man. Do you mean Mahrez, Drinky, Wes and Kasper aren't having Vardy or do you mean that they're also acting big time Charlies?

You want some Chinese club to throw Vardy 300k a week otherwise we're stuck with him.

bench Vardy, or drop him from the squad completely. However, surely Vardy being unprofessional isn't the reason we've looked so tired, unfit & de-motivated.. It has to be more than Vardy acting unprofessional surely? Please just give us the details !!

What I said is fact, its for us all to interpret why the extent of our demise. That is all I know at this moment in time. BTW Im not out to demonise Vardy or apportion blame to one individual

this is what i dont understand....

Ranieri was told in no uncertain terms that he needed to strengthen the squad....

Ndidi happened- everyone could see it needed to..... the owners are not afraid to spend money....

so what happnned? someone must of stopped deals from going through....

But who?

ask the mole.. according to the guardian - there;s a mole in the dressing room spewing out secrets..

i don;t like this team's harmony at the moment. Can't blame Ulloa wanting to leave - he's been value for money & saved us a few times.
