RoboFox Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 I think Claudio deserves an Italian masterpiece... Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Michelangelo's "Claudio".
Ted Maul Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 I agree that there should be a few- the ground needs some reminders of our history and links to Filbert street. The issue currently is that the Ranieri era is still ongoing- statues should be put up once the eras can be looked back on in full. Ultimately though, I would like: Walsh's celebration at Wembley (SK1 corner) O'Neill and Elliott with the League Cup (SK4 corner) Ranieri holding the PL trophy (on the roundabout on Filbert Way) The Birch (outside the main entrances/offices) Banks holding the World Cup (Family/West Stand corner near the shop)
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Similar to what @Ted Maul said, we need statues on all sides of the ground. On the roundabout too is a brilliant suggestion because I think something could fit in nicely there. I'm not going to deny, there are aspects of our ground which aren't to my taste. Our ground does need work in the respect of links to past history and legends of the club. We need to be looking at: Ranieri, Birchenall, Weller, Banks, Walsh, Elliot, Chandler, Shilton, Black, Rowley. Of course, there's a fair few there, but we do need to get some statues up outside the stadium.

mozartfox Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Peter Taylor rogering Junior Lewis would be good.
Spudulike Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 The one of Banks and a young Shilton is a truely iconic image that really needs to be commemorated. The theme of the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony was the passing on from the old to the new and this would be along the same lines. It would not only be a celebration of two of our legends but also (at risk of being cheesy) convey a message of hope for the future.
Mike Oxlong Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Think we should have a statue of a scene from that Thai hotel room. From that seed a fairytale was born.
Chico1958 Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Premier League Trophy with the Squads names underneath Simple but it will always identify the achievement when my Great Great Great Grandson says to his Dad Oh, now I know why Great Great Great Grandad died happy, he wasn'st mad after all
Soar Fox Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Has Gordon Banks ever been bothered with Leicester since he left? I've never heard or seen him at any Leicester games, the only time I have ever seen him it's always something to do with Stoke. He might have won won the World Cup whilst a Leicester player but for me that doesn't make him a legend for us.

HybridFox Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 One thing I've not understood about this year. I remember in 2008, I once did the Old Trafford tour with some family friends from up north. United had just won the league the year before. In their tour, at the end there was a room where supporters could hold the real trophy and have their photos taken. (Charge if you wanted a professional one but free to use your own phone/camera). From what I know, the likes of Chelsea and City have done this too. With our league win being such a unique achievement, I cannot understand why Leicester haven't done something similar at the KP as well! Think about how they could have cashed in on tours, as well as giving fans the chance to see it. What's the point of keeping it locked away?

To just make one of Ranieri seems to ignore the players input somewhat. At least one of both together would highlight the efforts of management and the team together as a unit. This would be an awesome one. Right down to the guy in the yellow rain jacket.... 6 hours ago, foxfanazer said: Yeah and you press a button and it sings That would be so Leicester! Sings what though? Sloop John B? If it went "Dilly Ding Dilly Dong, wake up, we're Champions League, man" I would love it!
Guest Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 The moment that brought us the success: a giant replica of james pearson's todger behind a guy having his ass licked....
LJS Posted 9 February 2017 Posted 9 February 2017 Having several statues around the place is a good idea. There isn't enough done to commemorate the history of the club. For the title winning one I quite like the idea of it being Ranieri and Morgan lifting the trophy with Andy King to Ranieri's right, which I think is how they lined up on the stage. I know people have mixed views of King as a player but his attitude has always been exemplary and I don't think anybody represents the fall and rise of the club in recent years more than he does. He started playing the year we went down to League One, has won titles in three different leagues with the club, and has always been pretty important to the team. People (correctly) talk about Steve Walsh as a club legend and for me King is right up there with him. I've no doubt he'll reach at least a decade with the club and will likely end up with more appearances than him too. He tends to get overlooked (he isn't spectacular, or a 'blood and thunder' type) in these discussions but I think he deserves recognition and, in my mind, is up there with the likes of Vardy, Mahrez and Kanté in terms of achievement last season, albeit in King's case the it being the culmination of years of toil. Given the fluidity in the modern transfer market he could well end up being the club's last ever one club man.
Vacamion Posted 10 February 2017 Posted 10 February 2017 12 minutes ago, LJS said: stuff about Andy King I hope and expect that the Andy King effigy will have a proper King-esque "Cumbrian poking his head through a toilet seat" gurn. And alao that the statue is 350 feet tall and you have to walk through the legs to enter the ground.
LJS Posted 10 February 2017 Posted 10 February 2017 It wouldn't be right otherwise. I also expect all match balls at the KP to be adorned with variations of his facial ticks.

In addition, though there were standouts, the whole squad achieved equally last season, or it wouldn't have ended in glorious success.. Given that it ended up not costing us in the end. Wasilewski's assault on Chambers that led to Arsenals winner at the Emirates is one of my favourite moments now. A statue of that may be pushing it though.
