Can we not have one with the whole team on the podium as they lifted the trophy?

We cant really just do ranieri or just morgann as it would be unfair for those that are left out. it was a team achivement

It would be nice... but in terms of costs etc probably a but unrealistic if we're going for top quality.

I was thinking busts of the others around the edge of the stadium.

Similar to what someone said on here about a 'trinity' of statues.

But I'd have Ranieri or Morgan lifting the Premier League; Banks lifting the World Cup and then possibly Elliott lifting the League Cup to represent the successful MON era?

The Birch holding the trophy would fit better, as he'd well know he's watched the up's and down's and can't really get better than holding the PL trophy.

Not for me... got nothing to do with him really.

I think it should be the second option, Ranieri and Morgan lifting the trophy. Ultimately we're making this statue due to one exceptional season, even if we go on to achieve other things under Ranieri the 15/16 season will be by far his most significant contribution. That means that a statue like the Ferguson one at Old Trafford where the subject is just standing there won't work as well, we need to have something that explicitly refers to our title win.

Also as Babs says, the second option includes the players which is important when you're focusing on a particular season.

Wouldn't just the prem trophy be a good idea. With a plaque commemorating everyone in the squad and Ranieri as the manager. I do think that certain members of the set up will eventually have their own statues but it all seems a bit wait until they have retired.

Plus it was a squad effort band of brothers kind of achievement to say put Ranieri and Morgan seems a bit unfair on the rest. And we all know the importance of not creating any divisions in the club right now.

You could make a case for the owners too. Plaque seems the way to go IMO with everyone named.

And a bloody big premier league trophy statue as whatever happens nobody can take that away from us :)

Yeah be great to do what Arsenal have managed and just dot them around the ground. Having one of that jump O'Neill used to do would be de juan, the Walsh one is iconic too. Can't find a decent pic of the Banks and Shilton holding the ball image but always thought it'd make a bloody great statue.

Football should be all about the players but they'll never be universal agreement on just one.

Ranieri and Morgan for me. Would like a whole team one but that is maybe asking a bit much and would surely eat into our transfer budget lol

I think it shouldn't be done for a while though. Certainly, not asap. It's a distraction we don't need and a pat on the back, that would be much more rewarding if he manages to keep us up, not just this season but beyond that. A lot of people, myself included, have lost some faith in him recently and it would be such a shame if he doesn't manage to finish this fairytale story with a somewhat happy ending (survival will do for me!)

It is certainly something we should look to do once Claudio has left. The perfect scenario for me, is if he keeps us up and performs well for us over the next however many seasons, and then he retires from football and we honour him with a statue on his last day plus we wheel out Morgan for the joint celebration :scarf:

I think if he manages to keep us up this season, he will be here at the start of next. I then wonder what our targets will be, with no Champions League excuses, or title winning hangover. If again, the target set by the owners, is survival only, then Claudio may be with us a while longer. If however, the owners want to push us to the next level and have us looking up, rather than down, then another poor start could mean Claudio is afforded far less patience. I hope we will be far more ambitious next season, and the owners true to their word, will try to push us to becoming a top 5 team, in reality meaning a decent top 10 regular.

This is all inmaterial of course if we get relegated. I would imagine he would resign or be sacked if that happened.

Statue yes! But either on his retirement day with us, meaning we are still in the Premier League OR in 5-10 years time when he has long been sacked, and the dust has settled and we can honour properly.
