Correct! But people throwing 10k on Pardew for example (shudder) must BELIEVE they have some sort of inside knowledge, 99 times out of 100 probably incorrect info, but potentially money making info all the same.

I'm not even sure what my point is now, it's Monday morning...

Thing is these bookies odds on the manager market are set to change on much much smaller bets than £10k lol. In fact they heavily cap the maximum amount you can bet on a manager, specifically to avoid ITKs bleeding them dry. Shakey was at 16/1 yesterday with a couple bookies, one would only allow £30 max bet and the other would allow £55 max bet. I put the £30 on and within literally seconds it changed from 16/1 to 10/1. This was at like 4am so there wasn't a ton of people lumping on at that time, a single smallish bet actually changed it that much.

Off to the AFCON with Nigeria, i'm afraid!

But didn't the AFCON not qualify for Nigeria.

Thought they got on?

Not as far as I'm  aware they didn't. Something along the lines of not seeing eye to eye and Drinky being a complex character. Not quite the accolade that Claudio gave Drinky of being a huge warrior.

Surely if the owners are serious they should be trying to bag someone worthy to manage Leicester City.

- Pearson

- Hodgeson

- Pardew

Are not the names you want managing your team

Mancini

de Boer

are however probably don't have it in them to get us out of the mess.

Yeah definitely. Ranieri aside, big name foreign managers have really worked out well for us in the past.

Not sure why someone who's managed us twice wouldn't be worthy of managing us either.

Because he fell out with the owners, Whelan & Rudkin?

Nope, it's going to be a tough one to find the right man for the job.

- We would want to present ourselves as a big club and therefore get a relatively high profile manager.

- Caveat the above, we will need to not be in a relegation fight to attract a decent proven manager

- There are no truly decent managers available

- We can't have old managers back O'Neil, Pearson

Based on the above  I can see no one joining us for at least 10 games time, where the people we would like/want know if we are going down or not. If we do then it's a no/no for them and we will end up with Avram Grant

We tried that with Sousa and Sven. Clearly worked?

Would be very happy with Mancini (he's not coming though) but being "high profile" should never be your primary consideration when looking for a new manager.

High profile and a good manager ? Sousa and Sven were not.... Mancini would be good, but he'll come at the end of the season if he does.

Exactly. He's not only managed us twice but knows 80% of the current staff and players so he could surely resume things very, very quickly. The reason it never worked for Newcastle with Keegan's return was because it was a completely different team and staff by then.

He has his faults but is there a better person to have at the helm for the 2nd leg vs Sevilla than Pearson?

Sousa is a good Manager and if memory serves me right I think he too was stabbed in the Back by the Players of the Day. Funny how things repeat themselves.

Pretty, isn't it? Note how water flows under it.

Here's another bridge...

The discerning amongst you will be able to tell that it has been burnt.

Burnt bridges can be mended though.....

I'm not convinced of it happening in this instance but I'd rather have Pearson back than Pardew.  Although has anyone actually checked if Preki is available

I would ****ing love Big Nige back. Every time he was here, he left us higher than when he started. Say what you want about his media persona, he got the job done.

For me though, I'd still give it Shaky until the summer (so long as we improve/show some fight) - then reassess in the summer.

I wonder whether if Nigel did come back, whether Steve Walsh would be tempted to come back?

I wouldn't want Mancini, or Hiddink. I think that has the potential to turn out how Ranieri did ultimately. Trying to change too much too soon. It concerns me that their latter jobs haven't been much more than a season or two. I'd love it if we were able to find a young-ish manager in the same mould as, for example - Pearson.

The whole "big name manager/players" never really worked for little old Leicester, did it?

Unfortunately the general consensus seems to be that the players have been consulted and want him back but that the owners won't have him back. It's a shame and possibly a missed opportunity but as others have said it may be better looking forwards and not back.

I've had my £50 on in two separate bets, bookies and online. 8/1 shakey. Basically 8/1 for home win or fighting draw tonight??
