He also managed in the Premier League as recently as 2012 where what he'd done was decent enough to warrant a call from our FA and has worked previously with players in our squad. O'Neill would be a massive gamble, more so than Hodgson. I genuinely don't get how anybody could think otherwise bar a dislike of Hodgson's personality.

Some common sense. People hysterically trying to justify a manager with no PL or managerial experience at a decent level just because they don't like Hodgson is absolutely laughable.

It'd be like when Fulham appointed Lawrie Sanchez from Northern Ireland; an absolute, unmitigated disaster.

Nice bloke. Done well with NI. But he's completely unproven at this level.

It's another 'no' from me...

Done absolutely nothing in league management, would be a ridiculous gamble when there are far more qualified promising managers out there.

I don't disagree with you, but who? Howe will be holding out for the Everton/Spurs jobs in the summer, Rowett seems to have dropped off the radar, NP is a cultural no-no, everyone else is either proven bad or unproven...

Someone who has actually managed in our league system would be a good start. My preference would be Shaky until the summer and then Dyche.

If the club search wide enough they'll be options.

Nobody gave Silva a chance but he joined Hull short term and has made them better.

People are too obsessed with the whole "he has to have experience in the Premier League".

Dyche...

I'm not sure. There's always an undercurrent of being content with being a just-performing underdog about him. I think he will be a good manager, but he'd have to change his schtick. But him or Hodgson is him in less than a heartbeat.

Completely agree-Howe, Pearson, and to a lesser extent Dyche have shown how effective managers from lower leagues can be, the flip side being the insanity of recruiting from lesser leagues, viz. Bob Bradley. I'd put Michael O'Neill in his camp-a terrible risk. I'd put Hodgson below that in a 'known horrorshow' pile.

Again this highlights we have no one at board level who is knowledgable when it comes to upcoming managers, do they just have a list of international managers or something?

All the players need is some sort of motivation and someone to get the best out of this group of players from now until the end of the season.

Michael O'Neill has over performed with NI consistently. Roy Hodgson, apart from a great season with Fulham, er, hasn't.

It's not even a discussion.

Are we going to approach all the shittiest, has-been, unambitious avalaible managers? Has Leicester become so unattractive? Let it to Shakespeare then.

I don't think our FA exactly sets the standard for manager recruitment.

Nah, we like going for the pensioners, get Father Jack Hackett in! #pashun

Roy can be in charge of making sure nobody steals the corner flags.

The real problem is, the people running the club have no idea who they're going to appoint, so it'll probably be Shakey - a good result.....however this is just like our transfer policy approach 19 different players, sign none.

When I saw the headline online, it said "O'Neil emerges as latest candidate for Foxes post", perhaps he saw that and assumed it was Martin?

I agree that MoN2 lacks experience but he is an unknown quantity in the PL and a bit of a wild card.  I quite like those appointments.  Hodgson on the other hand is a known quantity.   You know exactly what you will get.  Dreariness.  With Woy every day feels like Sunday to quote the great one.
