We were linked with him when he was at Sheffield United and I believe we almost signed him. Would be happy with him as a summer signing then 'break the bank' for Keane or Gibson.

Wonder id a few have changed their tune on him, compared to when we were linked with him a couple of years ago and he was rubbished.

I definitely have. He looked ponderously slow when that previous link emerged. Now he looks like Wes/Huth MkII. Yes please. He would suit our style well for me, right now. He's had a good season. Very good. Made great progress.

I'm gonna break the mould here. He's like what we already have. He's a highlights defender because he blocks shots and wins last ditch tackles. But no one questions how does he find himself in that position. 

 

A player of his strengths should be no2 on the centre back list. We need a classy cb like a Van Dijk or a Zanka. Then a Maguire can follow.

Surely Maguire and Gibson? Gibson being the ball player and Maguire being a enforcer?

I'd take Maguire. Comfortable on the ball too.

It was Ranocchia. Vardy exploited the space between him and Elmohamady all afternoon.

 

I like Maguire, strong, good on the ball and he'll get a few goals too I reckon. If we could partner him with Keane they could probably get 10 goals between them in a season but it seems Keane will be off elsewhere now.

Reminded me of a younger Robert Huth, thought he did relatively well on Saturday. I'd sign Maguire alongside any of Keane / Ake / Gibson. I was also impressed with Hull's left back Andrew Robertson, advocate of him.

 

Haven't seen much of Gibson but have heard good things about him. Ultimately though, he's the heart of that Middlesbrough defence who are solid and assured, despite their league position.

Rather get Gibson. Doubt Burnley would sell both of their CBs.

Gibson would also be a good shout but doesn't his uncle own the Club. Unlikely to prize him away unless they are relegated.

Yeah, only if they get relegated. I don't think he's good enough for the 'top 6' clubs.

We need a CB that. CAn bring the ball out too now if we're to develop. Keane would be perfect. I know we've supposedly missed our chance but I'm not sure the top 6 need him (Liverpool aside) and after them it's anyone's guess, especially as he's been here before.

Wasn't too impressed with him at the weekend but i've seen enough of him to realise he's a very good footballer and a definite Premier League player.

 

24, English, going on the cheap, centre half, can actually pass it?

Agreed, But he's young and still learning, But then so are we. We've a bit to go before we'll be a regular top six side.

Had we of taken Keane from Utd or Maguire from Sheff utd both around 2 million. What are they worth now.

Girlfriends Dad does some work for the Blades said he isnt the smartest tool in the box but a good pro.

His pace was the question mark over him but he seems to have quickend up a tad.

The couple of times I've seen him on TV he has looked very comfortable on 

the ball. Saturday was the 1st time I've seen him in the flesh and he is a unit.

His contract expires in summer 2018 so we can buy him relatively cheap. £7-8m. 

 

He has improved drastically. He's 6'2 and comfortable on the ball. Watched him against Arsenal few weeks ago and he was coming out with the ball pinging cross field passes with ease. He was outstanding against Chelsea.
