Foxxed Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 I'm starting to doubt if we'll ever have any new centre backs until our current retire.
Bossman Blessed It Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 It was spotted on MOTD that Vardy quickly moved on to their other defender as he was getting no joy against Maguire. He's a big lad and at 23 he has a lot of potential, given that he will have a good season of premier league experience too. Hull look likely to go down and our need for new centre backs may we drive the price up slightly, but it should be a worthwhile investment. Decent at attacking corners too.

Did he even start with Maguire though? Looked to me that he peeled left right from the off and had a right go at Ranocchia. Quite like the idea of him signing (tall, young, English, solid PL defender seemingly) but let's be frank he isn't quite the finished article yet- still has a lot to work on. Which is fine, due to his age. Could be a great replacement for Huth
mozartfox Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 DoF 'Rudderless' needs to pick up the phone to Pulis. Pulis collects CB's like Panini Stickers. He must have half a dozen he can offer us?
teblin Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 Funny I wasn't that impressed, have been other time just not Saturday. If huth or Morgan played like he did on Saturday they'd have been slated.
st albans fox Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 It's a bit early for a summer transfer thread ??
The Doctor Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 Whether he's like what we've got now or not, we still need someone like him. Huth and Morgan are both the wrong side of thirty and our backups are a bloke who turns 36 this summer (Wasyl) and someone who's not played a league game for us since I think September 2015 in benny. Young centre backs are a massive priority.
Ric Flair Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 I'd pay £20 million for Nathan Ake and then go £10-15 million on this lad. It would give us two fantastic young centre halves. I'm sure there's cheaper options just as good, if not better but I don't want another scenario like last summer where we refused to buy domestically and still paid a lot of money for distinctly average players.

Be a bit of a shock to the system though having centre backs with feet screwed on.
cheshamfox17 Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 I've got a Sheffield United friend who always tipped him for the top, he looks like a good player and has bags and bags of experience when you consider his age, he's played over 246 first teams games and is only 24. I'd happily have him here

Good shout, ,Ake is excellent,Bournmouth have nose dived without him. Unfortunatly I don't think he'll be available.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 I'd rather throw the kitchen sink at Keane and/or Mee.
