"Leicester would embarrass England in the CL"

Recommended Posts

I just remembered how how many opposing fans said that Leicester playing in the Champions League would be an "embarrassment", and that we would ruin the co-efficient of the country.

Tottenham, Arsenal, take a bow.

It was all a load of crap. If we'd gone out in the groups it would've been the same as Man United and Liverpool in the last couple of years, the same as Man City in their first two years. Reaching the 2nd round is all Arsenal have done since 2010 and Chelsea in the past two years.

Surely Arsenal losing 5-1 in the first leg would go some way to winning the most embarrassing result in this seasons CL

I think losing 5 - 1 in the second leg at home tops that.

If you've already been beaten 5 - 1 once, you don't let it happen again. Especially at home.

I enjoyed every minute of that second half.

After how Arsenal fans were after that loss at the Emirates we suffered last season it was fantastic viewing tonight.

We will just get accused of getting an easy group (which we deserved for being league winners). And if we go through next week they will say we got an "easier" draw" (Sevilla are 3rd in Spain).

I hope we go through and draw Benfica next round. The amount of people who will get rustled is hilarious.

I think those fans need to understand the scale here. Yes we've played significantly weaker teams so far compared to Arsenal, Man City and Spurs... But we're no big fish. It may be a steamroll for them to have our fixtures, but not for us.

Can we not wait until after our game before making this thread :sweating:

Unless we're going back in time and ****ing up the group stages or we're planning on shipping 8 goals against Sevilla without reply then I think we've done better than at least two of our fellow English teams.

Spurs gone, Arsenal humiliated twice... at least we fought and turned in a performance even under our poor circumstances we got out with a respectable 2-1 loss... now with renewed confidence you never know...

Arsenal just conceded more in two games than we ever have in this competition and Spurs have been knocked out of two European Competitions before we've even exited one.

What a time to be alive!

And whose merit would that be?

Again, CR was castigated in this forum

for prioritizing the CL over the PL.

Now the same people, who blamed him for

doing so, are dreaming of CL glories.

How fickle can fans be?

I believe we still have the record for biggest defeat for an English team.

Already qualified  for next round as group  winners and was a meaningless game so i would asterisk that loss. Having said that we didnt lose 5-1 at home nor did we lose 5-1 back to back as  'mighty arsenal'  did.

I like how the thread was created at 22:10 too. Nice touch.
