But he was never going to do that? He got like a £3m pay off Ffs.

Yeah but you don't think had he known he would get fired everyone could have played it off as if he left on his own terms?

'Wind out of sails' comes to mind now.. The Scouse Twat will find it difficult to diss the Club's decision to sack CR now..........

I hope he shows appreciation for the club, players and staff who worked tirelessly to make him a success for the first and only time of his career. Please don't jump on this bandwagon that you did it all yourself and the players did nothing to help.

I agree, it was a joint effort with everyone at the club, mainly the players though as they go out and perfom.

I'm not really bothered what he say's. Which I believe won't be a lot because he's not that sort of guy.

Whether he's been told not to or not...........

I'll watch it though, because I think Palace will do Arsenal and I still like the guy who helped make a dream come true.

I just wish it had ended better for him.......... although £3 million isn't a bad pay off

Isn't Ranieri on Sky next monday?

Yes I believe so

Sorry lads, remembered it was on a Monday and got a bit ahead of myself with the date... lol

I mean, er, I was just testing to see if you were paying attention... Well done, you both passed ;)

Perfectly acceptable. If we're to demand high standards for the players like being alert at all times and to punish mistakes it's only fair that we return the favour!

Perhaps, because the owners promised him their

"unwavering support" just 16 days before they

sacked him?

That's always the kiss of death though.

I`ve heard it all, we won the league because of Pearson, we won the league because of Walsh, we won the league because of Shakespeare, i`m sure there will be someone out there that believes we won the league because of the tea lady!

You've inadvertently touched on why we did win the league. It was because of the club, how it has been set up, how each component was diligently put in place to facilitate success. From the now renowned scouting system we (had) have, to the industry leading sports science team and data analytics, the innovative use of cryotherapy, and the now infamous sports psychotherapist. And yes, probably the tea lady. We regularly hear how we are a 'family club', and that starts with employees at all levels creating an atmosphere that players buy into and enjoy being a part of. And you have to admit that NP, SW and CS have been quite instrumental over the years developing each aspect of the club.

And because of this, the club is now extremely well run, in such a structure a manager can do one of two things, 1. have a limited role focused on the press and image of the club, and/or 2. oversee each component of the club infrastructure and aim for excellence. In my opinion, CR tried to change the style of play to his way this season, without the players to do so. He should have left the style of play alone and focused on man management and the press. Someone posted here a few days ago that the club should build the backroom staff and have them develop a Leicester way of playing, and identify players and support structures that allow for this. I agree 100%, and I'd go further is saying have them identify trends in play that will occur over the next 3-5 years and look to build to counter those. I think we have been successful with out style of play because it is different to the possession based football that has become the trend now. Teams will seek to change and adapt, probably towards our style of play, to counter the possession football, so the back room staff should be looking ahead at how football will continue to change and identify types of players that will be successful not only now, but when other teams start to adapt.

I think a glaring area of weakness is still our youth set-up, but I expect in coming years we will see progress there too thanks to the level of investment we've seen to get us to the top level of academy.

I hope he gets a PL job next season, as I'm quite keen to see what would happen. We still don't really know to what extent he contributed to our title win, would be interesting to see how he does at a club without the foundations we had.

Although this question of would he ? could he  ? will go on for years

The fact remains the same............ he did it with our team

I wish the man nothing but good luck for the future and he will always have a little piece of my heart

We have moved on since he left and next season will tell us more about where our future lies than this one

I am in agreement here, meticulous planning over a number of years gave us more than the foundation for success and although we do need to develop our tactical game we can only play tactics that the talents of our players allow otherwise we have what we witnessed pre-CS. A managers role has changed over the past 15 years to a leader of the organisation and its staff rather than a total decision maker CR did this well by leaving well alone (which was a skill in itself) and then fronted out the public face. I am afraid I worry that if he goes to Watford he could be tarnishing his public persona as a lot of work is needed there.

Might just be putting 2+2 together and making 5 as he was at our Spurs match last week.

I am not sure Mazzarri will go - the Pozzos like him despite some patchy performances.

Only downer for him is the lack of communication.
