Claudio to appear on Monday Night Football

Claudio Ranieri is ready to break his silence since being sacked by Leicester when he appears as a television pundit for Arsenal's visit to Crystal Palace next month, Sportsmail can reveal.
The Italian will be in the Sky Sports studio for Monday Night Football and the Premier League clash at Selhurst Park on April 10 and it is understood questions about his spell at Leicester are firmly on the table.

Sources indicate that Ranieri has chosen the forum due to Jamie Carragher's staunch backing in his Sportsmail columns. Fellow Sky pundit Gary Neville was also critical of the call to dismiss Ranieri nine months after guiding Leicester to the Premier League title.  The 65-year-old is free to offer his thoughts on what happened, with no gagging clause in place.  He has been silent since his shock sacking after the Champions League defeat in Seville, as the club teetered on the edge of entering the relegation zone, barring a short statement where he said his 'dream died'.

On Monday, Ranieri received a special prize at the Italian coach of the year awards here in Florence, 32 days after being dismissed by the champions. La Panchina D'oro (Golden Bench) recognises the top performances from managers in Serie A, B, and C, but Ranieri was honoured too because of his title-winning exploits. Before picking up his tribute, he told Sportsmail he would speak when he returned to England for the game which pits Sam Allardyce against Arsene Wenger. 'I will come back for Crystal Palace versus Arsenal,' Ranieri said.
That match, crucial at both ends of the table, will come almost two months to the day since he last paid close attention to a Premier League game — Leicester's 2-0 loss to Swansea which ultimately sealed his fate.

Upon accepting his award on a stage at the Coverciano Technical Centre, which houses Italy's national teams, a video montage of Ranieri's career appeared on the screen behind him.
When the moments depicting last season's march to the title played he wore a sombre expression and did not turn round to look up at the enlarged pictures, which included him and Leicester captain Wes Morgan holding the silverware aloft. Ranieri kept his words brief as he addressed the audience of assembled coaches, which included Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri and former Manchester CIty manager Roberto Mancini.

He said: '30 years ago when I was starting to be a coach I didn't imagine I would have a professional career. But after 30 years of it I can say, "I got it".
‘And this award means that I did something good. I want to thank the Technical Centre for considering me the best coach for this award.’
Since his sacking, Ranieri has split his time between London, Rome and Monte Carlo, and has declined offers to return to management in Germany, Turkey and China. Mancini, meanwhile, told Sportsmail he did not hold discussions with Leicester after Ranieri’s parting. The 2012 Premier League winner was linked with the post but offered a firm ‘No’ when asked if the club had been in touch. He did admit a return to England would be welcome, adding that a Champions League club would be his preference. ‘If possible, it’s better,’ he said. Mancini has also been touted for another job in Serie A with Juventus or AC Milan both possible destinations.

He will be as dignified as ever and probably give nothing away in terms of player's turning on him etc, if even true.

Will be interesting to see what he says but I bet it will all be glowing references to his time here and of the fans. Top bloke!

2 days before the Atletico game. Probably will say something like 'that's football, good luck to my boys'. Whatever he says, I hope it doesn't have any impact on the boys mentalities for the Atletico game.

Could someone please make a recording even just sound... and link it here when it happens. Would love to hear.

As has been said, i doubt that anything particualrly "exciting" will be discussed, but would like to hear when god speaks :)

Can imagine him turning bright red and screaming that our players are devils and they did everything they could to get him sacked tbh.

Well, Claudio certainly won't be graciously accepting his fair share of blame, as he's still trying to land another PL job in the summer

I suspect Claudio's doing this to raise his profile up for his future managerial prospects, as Shakey's success has very quickly buried talk of him. Can't see why else he would specially volunteer to be a pundit (!?) for a random PL game specifically on a show that has shown extreme support for him...

The Bell-end that is Carragher will turn it into an anti-Foxes fest.   Hope the legend that is CR does not fall into the Scouse-Trap.

Claudio is going to be patronised so much.

I hope he keeps his wits about him and isn't tricked into saying something dodgy (what with his sometimes poor grasp of the English language).

I've no doubt he will carry himself with class.

Staunch backing of Carragher and Neville! Meh..

If we have continued our good form then he will blame himself for not getting his message across to the players and trying to over complicate things. If the wheels have come off the revival it will be 'open season' though carra will be leading the hunt, not claudio who will attempt to stay controlled and say nothing contraversial

I ****ing hate Sky.

Others have pointed out, it's no coincidence it's days before we have a major semi final. Carra will do his absolute best to crowbar as much ill feeling out of the guy as possible.

Just hope Claudio doesn't bite really.

It's become increasingly obvious that Ranieri made fatal mistakes this year and that's fine, people do, I still love the bloke. But if he goes on TV, sticks his head in the sand and still just resoundly blames others then that'll start to take the gloss off.

That'll be gutting.

Semi final? We've got the semi final the month after I believe ?

Has Claudio ever been anything other than dignified? Sure he will say he's dissapointed but I don't see him turning it into an anti Leicester show with those Scouse and Manc rats.

If you think he will say anything bad your crazy. Will have been paid off very handsomely to keep his lips shut.

Even Pearson hasn't said anything yet.

He's most probably been paid off to keep quiet, he'll give stock answers to those two twats and that will be the end of it.

Pretty sure Nige was on that Sunday morning programme with Chris Kamara and Ben whatshisface and he did the same.

Claudio isn't going to start slagging anyone off mainly because he's not that sort of man but also because he's been paid handsomely.

I'm hoping that he comes out and categorically denies player involvement in his sacking, even if it's a lie. Would be great to see Carragher's face drop after he's spent the last 6 weeks slagging us off.

What  else can sky talk about, the title's wrapped up, the bottom 3 look destined to be the bottom 3, this years premiership is turning stagnant.  The problem for a pundit is if you've nothing to talk about, you are inconsequential.
