I couldn't be doing with Benalouane's aimless long passes for too long.

Yeah, Wes' aimless long balls are much better lol

Not at the game but Wes was one of our worst perfomers. He looked lost and could not even pick up his man for set pieces. Yes we have had a couple of great games with him. But we have had results with benny. Don't change a winning side.

No we shouldn't rest him, except perhaps for the Everton game so we can play our best side against Atletico. Morgan and Huth have been excellent since Shakespeare took charge.

We won theee games before Benalouane came and conceded the same amount of goals. Don't change a side that won in more impressive fashion.

Since Shakespeare took charge:

Morgan - 2 goals conceded against Liverpool, Hull and Sevilla. One goal scored.

Benny - 2 goals conceded against West Ham and Stoke. One sitter sent flying out for a throw-in.

Benny's great but based on the last few performances Morgan edges it for me.

West Ham was a tired team don't blame Benny for the goals. If you want to do that have we not just had our first clean sheet. Or does benny get no credit for that.

Your argument is so flawed give up. Wes is a good player that's all. Benny has walked in after 18months and equal to Wes.

We kept a clean sheet against Sevilla. Also, I'm not saying that Benalouane is a bad player, I just don't think we've been quite as solid without Morgan.

I did smirk at that 'give up' comment, what a total non-argument.

Total none argument?

Until Shakey took over he was perhaps our worst player. Yes what CR was doing did not fit. But Wes could lose his man in a lift. Man u away 2 goals plus his fault. Wes playing well is solid Wes ain't great. Any player that treats the ball like a hot spud needs out.

Not saying Benny is the future but Wes needs replacing asap.

Easy to judge when it's going right. He's pants when it's going wrong.

LMAO just spoke to my lad who was at the game and asked him wes or benny. His reply was the Wes lovers will say Wes. Benny all day for him adding what was sol bamba was called lol

Morgan was badly missed for all that we won. He was missed from the moment Peter Crouch came on.

Huth was marshalling our defence quite nicely up til then but he had no help whatsoever in countering Crouch who had the simplest chances to save the game, in truth, particularly if their disallowed goal had been given.

If you can't outjump a big guy you got to muscle them out by standing alongside them and limiting their ability to jump, move or run onto things.

We did none of those things. The only reason  Crouch didn't score was Crouch and I seriously doubt he'd have had such scant opposition if Morgan had been around.

Morgan is coming to the end of his useful tenure at Leicester...that doesn't mean he can't be managed to be super-effective in the games he plays.

I have to admit I loved Benny's flicked pass to Huth fairly early in the first half.

A clean sheet against Sunderland (providing Morgan is still injured or is rested) gives Shakey a decision to make for the Everton game. I do think Morgan still edges it and will surely start vs. Atletico if fit.

I think you're missing the irony.

No, I'm being serious.

Benalouane is one of those players that plays risky balls and fails most of the time, but on the occasions they are successful he is hailed as a wonderful passer. If Wes had played as many passes straight out for a throw-in as Benalouane did on Saturday he'd have been vilified.

I know that he's a better passer than Wes, but he needs to keep it simple.

He's the new Sol Bamba. A few nice flicks and he's a fans favourite, despite not actually being that good at defending.

If/when we're safe I'd love to see a benny/amartey pairing just to see how they'd get on. Huth and Morgan won't last much longer, need to try the options we have before buying more.

Bit too much jizzing over Benny, although he has done pretty well.  And Huth is loads worse with his feet and passing than Morgan.  Ya'll must be too scared of Huth to say so.

But yeah, **** Morgan and his shit goal which put us through to the QFs of the champions league

It was great because it came off. Very risky though.

Think Morgan would edge it over Benny for me, all things being equal, but I am nervous should Atleti be Morgan's first game back from a 2 month injury layoff. He may discover partway through the game he isn't quite fully fit yet....

we should manage Morgan more and give him some games off to recuperate more and so is fully fit and aware in all the games he plays for us. he's played non stop for the last few years with us and Jamaica and needs adequate rest between games and in the summer
