  1. 1. Would you have gone to Wembley if our U23s got to the final?

I know our trophy cabinet isn't exactly full but I'm glad we didn't win the JPT in our single season in League One. I know I'm sounding like a snob but I don't want that tinpot trophy on our honours list.

I'd be embarrassed if our under 23's got to the final. Daft competition.

I've never really understood the point tbh.

I get the non league trophy, alright, but a middle tier trophy for leagues one and two is the ultimate in pointless corporate sponsored filler.

All this stuff about boohoo for the little clubs because of the big boys putting their kids in, I just thought, so? Do they care?

A proper u23 cup with tidy media coverage, a Wembley final and some prize money would do more for the country's football than some pointless league one trophy anyway.

No. It's not a competition for reserve teams, it's for lower league clubs whatever we think the value of that is anyway.

Personally I think the chance to play the South American Winners of the Checkertradios Trofeo in Tokyo would have been fantastic. Roll on next season.

Probably not.................... But if it was on the box, I would have watched it

But then again I am lazy these days............ And tight

No because I don't agree with the set up this season.

I do not think it's "tinpot" or "shit" though - this trophy was made for the smaller clubs to try and win something. Oxford, for example. are at Wembley for the second successive season, yet they've not chance of making a League Cup/FA Cup final. It's nice for those fans of smaller teams to have a nice day out at Wembley.

The very definition of tin pot, literally. lol

That describes the Brian Clough trophy as well, and that's definitely shit and tinpot.

Not under its current format but certainly if we'd made it with our first team in league one.

I went the Rotherham game when they knocked us out and still remember feeling tense in the penalty shoot out against Lincoln! How things change.

That's not a trophy though it's just something honouring a legend.

Looks like a trophy to me...

Between two clubs, nobody else. It's just something they do. Why even bring it up.

Because we're discussing a tin pot trophy and why not discuss the most tinpot thing going?

Cos it's shit and tinpot. Absolute garbo

If it was our first team when we were in League One, yes, definitely. At that point we could have never dreamed that our next Wembley appearance would be in the Community Shield as Premier League champions.

If it were our U23s this season, not likely. It's for League One and Two clubs. I really don't get why PL and Championship reserves have to be involved. I get that it's supposed to help young players play more competitive football, but it's a handful of games not a full season. And I'm sure we had that spring chicken Wasilewski playing in our games. Absolutely pointless exercise for us.

When we were in League One, I went to Rotherham away midweek and I was gutted we lost. I wanted to see us at Wembley and at that point the trophy represented our best chance of getting there. But instead we were beaten by a side from a lower division... This trophy isn't 'tin pot' (I hate that term), it's for those lower league fans that dream of watching their team at Wembley.

I don't even know who made the final but imagine a Stockport or nots county out selling us at Wembley.

Spuds and arsenil fans would be having a field day. But it would be a no win if we sold out. They would say it's the only way we would get to Wembley.

It being a bone for the lower league clubs who will rarely get to the final of a proper trophy doesn't mean it's not tin-pot. You've described it in other words, but you've basically called it a participation trophy for clubs not good enough to get anywhere near a real final - which is very tinpot.

It is an odd thing though, clubs are regularly fined (even before this ridiculous revamp) for putting out "weakened" sides so clearly aren't bothered yet 70,000 people attend the final. Is it, honestly, a big enough game for Wembley?

You really don't like it when people criticise Forest & Derby do you?

You're such an odd Leicester fan.
