That song...

I'm looking for the name of the song that our fans often sing (it was played over the tannoy at the end of the Stoke home game). It's got trumpets (I think) and it's a bit dance like... any ideas?

* sing = hum quite badly!

It's a bit random how we have started singing a dance song from a year ago. I like it though. The kop was bouncing to it after sevilla.

Think I read that it started off when our away fans at Porto started ironically humming it while being thrashed? It was Porto's goal music

It was Porto's goal music so we'd obviously heard it a lot. Some of the away end started singing "let's pretend we scored a goal" which was followed by the singing of this song!

I like it - it's a nod to our European tour and has a story behind it. Hopefully it'll continue.

Great during the Sevilla game. I like how we've adopted it as an ironic nod to being the worst team in the champions league ever daring to get thrashed 5-0 away in a dead rubber game and therefore ruining the English co-Effiency.

oh, wait.

I was humming it to myself for days after the Porto trip.

I don't think that taking on a recently popular song, that was used repeatedly as goal music in a significant European match, can be counted as 'random'.

As said it all came from the constant hearing of it after Porto's goals, was sung in the stands initially then later that night and the following night in the bars in town it would come on and almost became a theme for the trip. Was then sung in the win against Man City the following Saturday.

Personally love it, and great that the club play it after games. Its a real nod to out away support 6+ years ago where defeats like that would be pretty common and people were just determined to have a good time regardless. Most our away ends now seem far too serious and much of the genuine wit seems to have gone.

For anyone that missed the seville home game. Listen to this podcast from 6mins in you will here 'this girl' in the background start up and SK1 giving it...the noise :-). It was a fantastic night and this celebration after the stadium was vacated will stay with me as just another great champions league night memory
