MC Prussian Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 Don't usually feel the need to push foreign LCFC fans into the limelight, but San Diego native Travis Hackett, 13, beat leukemia and credited our success story last season as the main reason behind his recovery. So a US charity who hands out surprises to people who beat cancer has given Travis the chance to see us play tonight against Sunderland - he'll be at the KP. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-39493027 Love his reaction when he's been told he'll travel to the UK. EDIT: Move if already posted.
sylofox Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 I don't mind admitting that bought a tear to my eyes. I hope he gets to meet the players and the win. ufs One Travis Hackett would be nice 13th minute
Milo Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 Thanks for the post - wasn't aware of this at all. Nice story

ARM1968 Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 Best they could come up with was Dunderland? Oh my. Hope the club club know and do something for the lad. Great story. Hope he has a full and happy life now.
foxes21 Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 someone get started on a crowdfunding campaign so he can come back to the KP and watch us against Atletico!!
urban.spaceman Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 Great story! Absolutely surreal seeing Americans talk about Leicester City in such well informed detail! And that they're pronouncing it properly too! Look at how far we've come when bringing an American child all the way to a Leicester City match is seen as a treat rather than a punishment! Hope he enjoys the match!

Would hope he'd rather people donated to a children's cancer charity... call me an utter misery but I've never been keen on fundraising for individuals when many can benefit from it instead, whilst people still get to make their good will gesture. Nice story though and I hope he has a great day!
Jimothy Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 Never seen someone so excited about the prospect of visiting Leicester before.
Sir Shep Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 Well we'd better score a hatful of goals for him now! Love this, our atmosphere will I'm sure leave a positive effect on him
Guest Danny Clender Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 Not been on FT long, but this is the first time my heart has been warmed by the site and its contributors, thanks! If a 13th Minute applause can be achieved tonight, I'll write my next post in my underpants.
MrSpaM Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 Think he's getting to meet the players and everything from what Shakey has said
