Atletico 2nd leg at home

If we go 2-0 up with any amount of time left, I doubt my heart will stand it. But I'd happily sacrifice my health for that. I'm already a nervous wreck any way. Come on Leicester!

Facts are facts and you can't deny it. As Vardy had a horrible first half of the season, Slimani did too, or were they playing in different teams? Ulloa isn't even part of discussion, he is well below the other strikers in the squad in terms of everything and Okazaki doesn't play the goal scorer role, also Slimani was being used in a role that he never played and still managed to score goals.

Oh, bore off.

Tell you what. If Mahrez wants the world to really think he's world class, to get his move to Barcelona in the summer - this is the game to put down a marker. Home game against a defensive team where we have to score - the best in the world at shutting down a game - unlock that mate. Could he be the difference today?

The scenes. Can you imagine?

I'll personally drive him to Barcelona if he gets us through tonight

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi is doubtful to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinal, second leg on Tuesday night, according to the official website of UEFA.

Seems to be having a great time whatever he's doing on his snapchat lol

Let's hope we can get around Atletico's Parked bus tonight and bang in a few sweet goals to the dismay of that cheating fake card waving tale telling whinging little scumbag Simeone!!

Really hoping tonight we have a fair game and don't have to play against 12 men ?!!

That's just not going to work. By that point the atmosphere will be gone and they'll be able to put many men behind the ball and nullify our main threats. We don't know how to play that way anyway, when we're slow in possession we're careless, and more so when we've not got players steaming forward to give us options. Confidence will drop and we won't be able to get any momentum going. Our defence isn't good enough to withstand loads of pressure anyway, we will eventually concede.

We need to get a goal early and make them shit their pants.

I'd rather us have a go if we're going to lose. Unfortunately we've put ourselves in a very weak position with no away goal.

Are you suggesting the home crowd wouldn't be right in the game if we're still in the tie with 20 Minutes to go?

My feeling, along with a fair few other posters is that in order to win, we will probably need to keep a clean sheet and so that should be the priority in mind for the first 50-60 minutes.

That's not to say we don't look to attack during this stage of the game, but maybe we take a more pragmatic approach, for example starting with 5 in midfield.

If we manage to maintain the game at 0-0 (or better) by the 65th / 70th mark - we can then consider our position and give it a real go to find a goal or two in those last 20 to 25 minutes if needed. Essentially, if it's 0-0 with 25 minutes left what we're doing is backing ourselves to create 2/3 chances within that period and take at least one to take the game into extra time.

My personal opinion is Athletico withdrawing and becoming defensive in that scenario may well help our attacking threat as well, not hinder it, given we can load the box with tall players and look to cause mayhem - we won't be looking to pass through them like a Barca or Real would.

Yes an early goal would be great for us, but an early goal for Athletico makes winning the tie almost impossible, hence the most important thing to do at the start is be solid.

Can someone tell me Ndidi is 100% playing so I don't cry myself to sleep in Melbourne?

The UEFA website stated the same thing about Ndidi before the 1st leg. He'll play, save your tears for when we win later.

Didn't know that, thanks mate!

I don't get why some seem to think that we should play 0-0 until the 60-70 minute. Considering it can even be done, with every minute passing by, the pressure will grow on our schoulders and our side's confidence will get smaller. The players will start to be nervous and be prone to make mistakes.

That's greatly underestimating Atletico to think one can break them in the last 20 minutes or so. They have an experience we don't, quality players, it's their game, can play dirty if necessary and held off far more dangerous sides. We're too much of greenhorns at this stage of the competition to engage a war of nerves with them. Not to mention that if we concede a goal in the last 20, the game is definitely over.

We should see them as an italian team from the nineties. We'll need to put pressure on them the whole 90 minutes to get a goal.

Have to agree on the crosses/throws/longish balls may be our better option.I wouldn't mind Vardy or Mahrez magic but it may be the second ball that comes down of a cross that drops for a shot.

For who? Huth and Slim don't play. I'd have started Slim with Albrighton on the right and Mahrez on the left. Then get Vardy and Gray on at the 60th minute when the defenders begin to tire a bit. Could Ulloa start? I wonder.

He honestly has no chance to get there other than for eventually warming the bench. They have three monsters up front and I don't see him playing as a WB.

Really, really hope he'll turn up tonight.

Ill take that .Not saying the crosses will do the job they don't have to be in the air .Just quick early balls in and pick up the pieces -maybe a little cut back front post .
