He has been a part-timer yet he has the best goal per minute in the squad. Imagine if he was a full timer...

Not these stats again! lol

We have four strikers in the squad, one hardly plays (Ulloa), the other as an attacking midfielder/grinder (Okazaki), and Vardy's had a forgettable first half of the season.

Not a miracle to stand out with such (per average) stats!

Besides, we can't tell what his stats would look like on a 90-minute basis, because a) it's entirely hypothetical and b) he seldom ever makes the full distance...

Think we'll win 2-1 and go out on away goals, unfortunately.

What at an effort that would be though. Whatever happens tonight, we'll end the night being proud of our team I'm sure.

I could almost take that - as long as they don't get their goal via a dodgy free kick in the last ten mins!!

we need Kasper to have an inspired game tonight, we need the back four to stay strong and resolute tonight, we need the central midfielders to spray the passes around and to get the tackles in and win the ball back tonight, we need the wingers to run with the ball and use plenty of pace to get the ball into the box and get plenty of crosses in tonight, we need the front attacking players to use their pace and get beyond the opposition defenders tonight and to get on the end of crosses that come into the box and get their shots on target tonight. we need a complete team performance from everyone working together for the collective goal, tonight

Really  Einstein ? Bet the coaching staff has not thought of this.

Really looking forward to this. I have hope but not expectation. A clean sheet is more or less essential and stopping them scoring will be tough.

Going to need a massive slice of luck but who knows eh?

I'm expecting a very hard, closed game tonight. Atletico will sit deep and wait for us. If we can score fast anything is possible but if they do it first, it's over. We will miss Huth and Slim immensely and it's now or never for Mahrez to shine.

3-1 (could go both ways)

I think we're going to try and soak up pressure, they're expecting us to have a go at them but I think we'll be cautious as we can't concede. I'd imagine we'd be happy going into the last 15 minutes 0-0 and then throwing the sink at them.

Yes! This is the only way I conceivably see us going through tonight. We need to keep it 0-0 and on the lowdown for as long as possible before getting the all important equaliser and then getting the 2nd in injury time without them having a chance to reply. If they score tonight I just don't see us scoring 3 times in 90 minutes or twice in extra time after they get one. It's a huge huge leap of faith to think it's possible but then again we are a bonkers fcukin club.

0-0 please until 80 mins and then raise the roof with an Ndidi piledriver and a Vardy last minute penalty to really stick it to Simeone.

That's just not going to work. By that point the atmosphere will be gone and they'll be able to put many men behind the ball and nullify our main threats. We don't know how to play that way anyway, when we're slow in possession we're careless, and more so when we've not got players steaming forward to give us options. Confidence will drop and we won't be able to get any momentum going. Our defence isn't good enough to withstand loads of pressure anyway, we will eventually concede.

We need to get a goal early and make them shit their pants.

I'd rather us have a go if we're going to lose. Unfortunately we've put ourselves in a very weak position with no away goal.

Banish any nerves about tonight and be confident. Feel how close we are to the semi finals of the Champions League. No room for any negativity. Let's claim what is ours!

C'mon Leicester!

Facts are facts and you can't deny it. As Vardy had a horrible first half of the season, Slimani did too, or were they playing in different teams? Ulloa isn't even part of discussion, he is well below the other strikers in the squad in terms of everything and Okazaki doesn't play the goal scorer role, also Slimani was being used in a role that he never played and still managed to score goals.

Well, yeah. You just proved my point again. The comparison is beyond being far-fetched.

The bloke's been a part-timer in terms of appearances ever he's been here and, in the end, I don't care about the reasons, real or contrived. I just hope the Chinese connection stays good and we sell him on. He's a good player in some ways but I've never yet seen him as much good for us. If he proves me wrong I'll be more than happy to admit it.

Just amazed and sad that some are doubting his will to play for City.

We'll see about that. He doesn't deserve to end his career there and my guts tell me that he'll stay either with us or go to another team in the PL.

This league is perfect for him and if he finds a team that suits his game, we'll see who'll have the last laugh.

If he doesn't play, we're dead.
