Atletico 2nd leg at home

Come on you foxes, we have to get the balance right between attacking them to get goals and being defensively strong. we need to be patient and play with plenty of pace and keep hold of the ball more and not let them pass us to death!. they can sit back and soak up the pressure and will try to hit us on the break so it is going to be extremely difficult but hopefully the players will be up to the challenge

I don't feel overly confident or overly nervous.

Que sera sera. If we do 'em it'll be one of the biggest things this club has ever done. If we don't? Ah well, we gave it our best.

Do us proud, as you always do.

Dawning is the day.  I've waited for 20 years for this day.

20 years ago I watched the most disgusting one-sided display of refereeing I had ever since and have never seen the like since.  I concluded then that the ref must have received an inducement to favour Atletico and although it was never proven the referee didn't get any further European matches.  The ref was penalised but the wrong inflicted on us remained.

Tonight we have the chance to lay the ghosts of that disgrace to bed.  Atletico are a fine side and are favourites to go through but for the last twenty years there isn't a team in the world that I've wanted us to beat more, and we now have the chance, one we'll probably not get again in my lifetime.

Couldn't agree more

lets throw everything into this

come on Leicester!!!

Pretty much this, just looking forward to the occasion. If we get an early goal I'll be a nervous wreck, but the lack of an away goal is going to mean we're effectively one goal from going out

We have to be cute tonight no rash challenges in or around the box as these feckers will exploit everything. Hoping for a fair game with decent ref decisions then win or lose we gave it our best shot.

Agreed. Last time all the little factors pre-match seemed to be aligning in our favour. This time we're down players to injuries and fatigue.

I get mildly annoyed that we played our first team against Palace, but then I remember how much worse it would be right now without Shakes - out of the CL and struggling in 19th, heading towards squad break-up and financial ruin.

I've already accepted defeat in advance of tomorrow, so anything better would be wonderful. So much pride in these players. Fuchs couldn't stop grinning when answering questions in that pre-match presser.

Exactly my thoughts and I'll be fuming if some of the players who played against Palace run out of steam tonight.

I go tonight more in hope than expectation, Atletico Madrid are arguably the 4th best club side in the world so our task is monumental. It would be utterly amazing if we're still in this competition in 12 hours time though.

Stop ramping up the atmosphere you lot!  I've got to sleep between now and my 3.30am alarm.

Anyway, this is the scene here. The Mercury hoarding was 'borrowed' from outside a newsagents in 1997.

I think we're going to try and soak up pressure, they're expecting us to have a go at them but I think we'll be cautious as we can't concede. I'd imagine we'd be happy going into the last 15 minutes 0-0 and then throwing the sink at them.

I hope not.

I'm all for being 0-0 at half time but there is a tipping point when 0-0 favours them more than us and it's probably about the 55min mark.

Short of going out and completely bottling it, I hope that tonight we can appreciate how far the team has come in the UCL. This should be a celebration, regardless of match outcome.

That said, break the door down. Heist time, lads - on to the semi-finals, God willing!

I can't understand what is happening with Slimani. In Sporting he got injured once in 3 years, here he has already been injured a couple of times, don't really know what is happening.

The bloke's been a part-timer in terms of appearances ever he's been here and, in the end, I don't care about the reasons, real or contrived. I just hope the Chinese connection stays good and we sell him on. He's a good player in some ways but I've never yet seen him as much good for us. If he proves me wrong I'll be more than happy to admit it.

Yeah same really. If we miss out by one goal though that penalty decision is going to hurt.

This is the type of game that plays into Madrid's hands, the style they play is perfect for the scenario of this game.

This ref sounds like a total bellend, I don't think I could take the injustice of another horrific refereeing display. I can't imagine he would give two shits about the crowd either if he's pulling stunts like that in Milan.

He has been a part-timer yet he has the best goal per minute in the squad. Imagine if he was a full timer...

I'm hoping for a lovely early goal by a Mahrez freekick and then in the second half Vardy to dive in the area to get us a pen and take us into the Semi's. Simeone then to get sent to the stands for kicking off about the dive.

This would be perfect.

Think we'll win 2-1 and go out on away goals, unfortunately.

What at an effort that would be though. Whatever happens tonight, we'll end the night being proud of our team I'm sure.
