(Maybe we should check back for comments). Would this have been any different or am I missing something? They clarified their position. Brown did not approach. May has done. She's now in a coalition. She's now threatening NI peace. She's taken sides. She's lost the trust of those previously given to peace. She's made Sinn Fein believe she's ignored the Good Friday agreement.

Brown only didn't approach because talks with the Lib Dems failed. It was certainly believed to be part of his plan to continue. ill look for more links later, I'm just enjoying the sunshine now.

Guest Posted 10 June 2017 Posted 10 June 2017 I'll probably get backlash for this, but the way I see it (as both previous labour and conservative supporter) is that I feel the unnoficcial labour campaign helped massively. i saw nothing but scaremongering for the NHS, tuition fees, banning all immigrants, higher taxes the lot... I even saw one image that said 'NHS will no longer be free from June 8th' ans had a cost in there of 4 grand for health care. This was shared a HUGE amount of times. Its a total lack of care for our contry that corbyn is calling for May to be sacked but also a total lack of care that May and the conservative team did NOTHING substantial to make us believe in her both parties have totally ****ed this country over and we are all too busy blaming the opposite party to even notice

There'd be no problem with Brexit if the will was there to carry it out. Instead we got a Remainder dressed up as a Brexit flag-flyer who might have instinctively engineered a situation where she effectively got her EU wishes because there's every chance we'll stay in the single market now and all we'll really get for wanting out - and restored control on our laws and on controlled immigration, is a lot of fudge and flannel. As for Soundman's comments, with the BBC acting like Corbyn's version of the Russian communist-party mouthpiece Pravda, May would have had a hard time without doing what seemed like everything she could to play into the opposition hands. . .

She should bloody well go - she's destabilised the government during the most important two years in politics we've had in years; and now jumped in with terrorists and is threatening to destabilise the peace process in Northern Ireland. She put herself ahead of country, and did massive damage to both.

Finnaldo Posted 10 June 2017 Posted 10 June 2017 Apparently on Radio 4 Owen Paterson (Tory MP) said they'd put a vote on abortion limits in exchange for DUP support. If it's true, the Tories are already being held ransom by the Christian Fundamentalist <1% gang. Strong and stable my arse. Gonna be funny watching this shiteshow trying to negotiate with the EU when they're being grabbed by the goolies by the DUP

It wasn't so much her decision to seek a stronger mandate, it was her piss-poor performance in justifying that mandate to the electorate.

Really looking forward to the next GE (probably about October time at this rate), unless the tories change track sharpish they'll end up out of government, and won't come back for at least a decade.

I was telling friends this yesterday. They dug their deep grave in the election and I expect them to quickly fill it with excrement until it's time to jump in. If Corbyn gets the support he's bound to receive Labour will have 10 years of not more to implement his policies. This result could turn out to be a massive Labour tactical victory.

I don't see the need for the photoshop images though, the DUP itself provide all the ammunition needed.

I know you won't see this but the troubles are over, political parties the world over have to work together. Corbyn supported the IRA at the height of the troubles when there was no need to do so.
