Kapustka to Freiburg - Now Agreed

We can recoup the money we paid for him.

Another new signing that has been totally mismanaged by the club. We have wasted a whole year of his development.

You have to wonder what we were thinking signing him with no real plan on how to use him.

Huh? I'd only let him go on loan. The kid has potential and a couple of years in the Serie A would be good for him.

I wouldn't be happy if we did sell him after one year. Kapustka obviously has raw talent. His Euro performances and interest of a club like Roma suggest so. In addition, when he has played he definitely has good technical ability. I see no reason why after one year to acclimatise he can't be an asset next year. It's players like him, alongside Gray, Lawrence, Ndidi etc that we need to build on going forward.

Not standing out even in our poor U23s team, even the fanatical Polish media has admitted he hasn't played well here when given cup opportunities.

Needs few more years to develop, not much point in loaning him out for several years on end and then selling him once he becomes half decent like Lawrence.

If we let him go we'd be having the same discussions as we've had about kramo in a years time. The kid needs to go out on loan then given the chance, he's shown he has the raw ability.

Yes there is, what if in that time he does exceptionally well for Roma? We can then either bring him back or sell him maybe even for a profit.

Why do you think big clubs loan players out for years on end?

Even if he doesn't shine, we should be able to recoup half of what we paid after a loan season. Roma are a decent standard and in champ league.  gamble of a couple million is worth it. alternative is a buy back clause at a set fee which may be more tricky

Surely were not going to sell the kid without some kind of chance to develop here!

A loan fair enough but why do we sign these players and just move them on without giving them a chance!

Same for Tom Lawrence too

Would be gutted if we sold him. Think a loan is his best option. To a team with a forward thinking coach.

Cant spend another season with our u23s. He might not have shined playing for them but you don't start for Poland in the Euros and regress that quickly.

As much as I want/wanted players like him and kramaric to succeed here, they've been brought up playing intricate quick passing football, not running on to balls in the channel or looking to play a ball like that.

As long as we don't change our style (which we won't let's be honest it's working alright!) players like that won't fit in here.

Understand the sentiment when people say "gutted", well sort of.

But, we're one season in and we know NOTHING about him, is he good? is he bad?

Anybody that's been watching the Under 23's and has belief, fair play, i'll take your word, I have only been watching the firsts, therefore can make no judgement. The performances I have seen mean nothing.

Somebody at the club had a strong opinion when they brought him in, if they still do then loan him out.

If they no longer have such an opinion, sell.

What's the worse that can happen? He goes to Roma and does really well?, that's life.

Not quite the same situation - after all, they're five years apart. You could argue that Cabbage has much more room for improvement and is far from being the finished article.

I'd keep him close and loan him out to an aspiring Championship side next season, such as Swansea, Fulham, Derby, Norwich or Middlesbrough.

Two possible answers or a combination of the two.

Our scouting is not as good as we think.

Our training/management of young players is shite.

We really have made some bizarre signings under Ranieri. Kaputska being possibly the strangest of all.
