Gylfi Sigurdsson

Just looking at Everton forum out of interest as its all going on there at the minute transfer wise. The general feeling seems to be that they wouldn't be happy paying more than £30m for Gylfi as there are better options out there for that sort of money, although the only name put forward was Fabregas. They certainly don't seem as enthusiastic as us about the prospect of getting him in

Everton have more delusions than some of our fans though, they think they are on par with those above them.

Yeah, that comes across on the forum.

Mata 30-35m

Still dont think we will sign Gylfi. Why would he want to come to us anyways? Same old really, we need to be put about more in the market and make some serious offers to get stuff moving. Ideally if we could get mahrez off to arsenal, that would get sanchez moving (hopefully to man city) and then get iheanacho moving.

Cant see sig coming though.

Neither can I, but still think we should bang in a £35m offer for him to stir things up if nothing else, if we haven't already. I still think he would be a value for money signing at that sort of figure.

TBH I consider £40m relatively 'cheap' in this crazy transfer market.

Like others have said people were happy about us spending £15 - £30m on unproven, not tested players in the Premier League some of who have turned out to be flops but aren't happy spending solid money on tried and tested. Madness.

If Slimani is a £30m player (There are also many, many other examples I could use but thought i'd use one close to home), Sigurdsson is £50m+, thus me claiming £40m as 'cheap', keep that quiet though, pay £40m. ;)

Personally I'd blow Everton out the water, no fucking about, go in with the asking price, maybe even pay slightly over the odds, he might still not come, might not have any interest in coming, but let's atleast have a proper go.

As I keep saying, why we didn't try last season is criminal, very confident we'd have lured him here last year. Missed opportunities.

Agreed ?

Indeed they are. My mates an Everton fan and reckoned Everton were gonna sign kasper and Mahrez. I laughed for quite a while when he said it. In fact it still makes me laugh now

Not sure why anyone is knocking Everton at the moment? They are simply doing what they've said they will do. Acquiring targets and looking to sign them.

They might never become one of the 'big boys' of Prem football, but at least they are looking to improve. They have some good players there now.

Everton have already spent a lot and are linked with everyone including Rooney today.

The question is whether Sigurdsson wants to come to us or whether he wants a bigger club and Everton although they have won very little may be more attractive unless we can demonstrate our ambition.

Constant  links which turn out to be blind alleys can become depressing. I am hopeful that the club is more focused in the background and will come in with concrete offers over the next few days as there rarely seem to be last minute bargains.

It's the fact they've signed 4 average players and are going to lose Lukaku and they still reckon they are gonna break into the top 6.

Pickford, Keane, Klaasan, Sandro. Meh. They won't get as many points this season as they did last.

Maybe not, but I wouldn't call them average players. They are exactly the sorts of players Spurs have recruited in the last few years that moved them from a peripheral top 5 club to comfortably in the top 4. Out of the 4 I'd say Keane is the most over-rated but the other 3 have massive futures. Losing Lukaku will be a massive blow though, his goals can't be easily replaced but Sandro is a beast of a player and will do well.

Im sorry, but i cant taker you seriously if you are calling those players average...

Sandro is an unknown quantity, I'd be surprised if he comes to England and scores a comfortable 15+.

Keane and Klaasen are good signings though.

Anyone calling Everton's signings 'average players', let me ask you this? Would you have been happy to have seen us linked with them, let alone sign any of them?

He's got the attributes that seem to prosper in this league, I think he'll be an instant hit and what a bargain price that is.

Would've questioned the £30m for Pickford but would still have him. Don't know much about that Ramirez
