Too right, I don't know whose strategy it was last season, but we missed a massive opportunity to recruit some badass shit
Wymsey Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 Seems very quiet at the moment - regarding this one, Iheanacho and Mahrez.

We could have got Siggy, Silva, Nzonzi, Keane etc!
Lambert09 Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 Out of curiosity, if we had the option of Mahrez staying and not signing siggy or signing siggy and selling Mahrez, which would make us a better team? Surely theres no doubt that on his day Mahrez is far better than siggy, or most players in the league tbh. Even though he had a mare of a season I like to think if he settles down and realises he needs to play well to get signed by a 'big boy', we'd get quite the season out of Riyad

The POTY Mahrez is a better player... last year's Mahrez wasn't anywhere close to Sigurdsson. Sadly I don't think we'll ever get THAT Mahrez back at City so I'd rather have Siggy now.

Should he stay which Mahrez are we going to get? He should sort his head out and think "right, gotta knuckle down, have a good season to prove myself, put me back in the shop window to get a move next summer...hey, have a good half season get a move in January maybe!" or will he drag his feet, i'd like to think he's honest and it's the first scenario. Now Sigurdsson seems more consistent, hard working. Oh his day Mahrez, without a doubt, but sometimes, last season especially he has more than a few off days.

waylander Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Feel it in my water signs in the stars we have him if Everton don't .?
mozartfox Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 He will sign for Everon and we will get the other Ziggy....... Ziggy Stardust.

Not knocking Siggy as I think he's a fantastic footballer but Mahrez is one of a kind and it's been a complete pleasure to see him develop over the years into a truly World class player that in reality we won't see such a talent in a City shirt again anytime soon. Clearly he had a poor season but who didn't?He set the bar so high in the title season and was so influential that the majority of teams we faced this yr came with a game plan of just stopping him playing by doubling if not tripling up on him which was always going to effect his game. After everything Riyad has done for us and the moments of joy each and everyone of us will never forget the negativity I've read about him on here is shocking, totally unloyal & truly embarrassing. You dont know know what you've got til it's gone...

You dont know know what you've got til it's gone... Your not wrong on many points. BUT his pending exit could have been handled differently. I think what riles some people on here is, it 'appears' he is expecting LCFC to let him go at a 'knock down' price because of what he has done for us. I personally have no objection to him moving on, but it must be at terms and at a price that is acceptable to the Club and not to Riyaz Mahrez and his Agent. Add into the mix he went missing for half a season, this may be this explains to you the reason for the negativity from some quarters. To accuse people on here of not being loyal is a strange one. Players come and go, but it is how they go that matters for the fans.

Are... are we West Brom?? I know WE don't see it that way, but any potential signings are just going to see a team who, for the most part, play 'unattractive' football, have a relative unknown as manager and is a fair whack away from the big cities. It's a hard sell to anybody looking to make a sideways step.

If the owners can sell their ambition to a prospective signing then there is proof that it isn't pie in the sky as would be the case with all the others outside the traditional top five.

Do u actually the believe a player has any say in what price he should be sold at?

And he might not have a say, but he'll as sure as hell have an opinion.

Countryfox Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 This ain't gonna happen ... I hope we are keeping our Plan B close to our chest and look forward to hearing about it in due course when the deal is done ...

spaghettilegs Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Would love to sign him but I think the closest anybody from Leicester will ever get to Gylfi is if someone goes down Freeman's Park and cracks away at Mecca Bingo
