I'm in Italy atm and the press here are going really heavy on Inter having talks over the next few days with Poch. They're prepared to pay €10m per year to get their man...

Fingers crossed it happens and The Spuds end up with Woy!

I would be fuming if Mahrez left for another prem club. Would sooner see him go PSG or somewhere like that. Would Mahrez fit in your style of football? possibly. On his day he is an absolute magician. Last season he was right up there as the very best. I can see him leave this summer but he is under contract so we can get a good price for him.

Janssen may come good for you, Vardy was very hit and miss to begin with for us so Janssen may flourish next season.

You could always sign Ulloa from us, improvement on Kane that's for sure lol

I think Janssen is a good interceptor!

I think  for me it was the arrogance of some of the spurs players/management in the months leading up to the title win- i remembered reading a few comments and thought they came across as being very rude/ derogatory towards Leicester City.

Add to that the fact we are very thin on the ground with regards to the amount of Midlands-based teams in the Prem right now and everyone loves a good rivalry..

They didn't really fvck it up. They have secured second and more points than last season, they will probably end up with more points than we won last season.

Semi final of the FA Cup, second in the league with enough points to win it in other years, unbeaten at home all season, they will consider it a success, the only thing wrong with their season was a slow start and that Chelsea were just too good.

Lets also think about the fact they have the youngest average starting line up, and not by a little, but well over 2 years difference between them and next youngest, with a team full of English players and a squad that didn't cost billions to assemble.

Yeah they were shit in Champions League, but they get to go again next season. There really is a lot to admire spurs for, just a shame that a load of their fans are scum.

Very commendable-----------  And they won what ?

Why are Spurs so detested by Leicester exactly? I don't understand this. You even beat us to the title last year comfortably in the end. At what moment did you guys decide that Spurs were all of a sudden scum?

Spurs1980 - As OP, I hope you took my doggerel in the spirit intended.  Right up yours  ;)  but as a laugh.   I had to lay it on thick to fill three stanzas.

Here’s my take on your question.  (I am not trying to speak for those with a  history who have stated their own reasons.)  A big part of it is, especially for newer fans, a rival is needed.  LCFC have not played Forest or Derby for a few years, and you can guess that this forum is not pulling for their promotion.  In comes Tottenham -- last year's close competitor and a rich, easy target for banter.

The other part is Spurs fans.  The online presence on the Fighting Cock repels even the neutral -- while being the go-to spot for other supporters looking for schadenfreude or quotable insanity.   It does give the impression that THFC attracts or breeds nasty, even pathological supporters.  Delusion and lack of grace in defeat, you can find in any group, but they are fun to send up.

Good on ya for coming on here and showing the other side of the coin.

Why? I suppose you think it all started last season. Hate the cvnts and loving they fvcked up again.

I mean they did drop off quite a bit last season but they weren't even expected to get top 4 and they finished 3rd. Then this season, they've finished 2nd to a machine of a Chelsea side and never had a sniff of the title. When you consider our fall from grace, you just can't say Spurs ****ed up by finishing 2nd.

Fair enough if that's how you feel. I would imagine there were a lot of bitter Spurs fans last season. For Leicester to come out of nowhere to win the title was perhaps a bitter pill to swallow after finally finishing above the other big sides in the league.

Addressing a couple of points, the 11 point gap wasn't really a true reflection as I believe we threw away the last 2 games as the title was gone. In my opinion this was massively frustrating and hugely unprofessional. Leicester won the league fair and square. No one can take that away from you. But at the time and I remember it well, it did feel like the whole country were willing you to win the league (as I would have, had we not been the last team to have been able to stop you from doing so). It felt unjust at the time as in our minds at least, teams were rolling over toward the end. (I remember Guidolin saying 5 mins before a game how much he hoped Leicester would win the title before they got spanked).

Again in terms of playing better football, that's hugely subjective. Personally I didn't like the brand of football Leicester played however you had to admire it. Like Atletico Madrid, you were massively successful playing counter attacking football (I understand that approach changed halfway through the year as early on you guys were great going forward and playing some cracking football).

I am in danger of sounding bitter again so I will choose to say this. I remember logging on after you were crowned champions congratulating Leicester for what was an historic achievement. I also said I was incredibly jealous and envious of what you as fans got to achieve. I really do hope we do win the title one day to experience what you guys felt.

We did not come out of nowhere I believe we where top six all season. But you did as you where bottom three at one point. And no you did not finish above the big boys as you where third. Do you need reminding who was second lol

How stupid of me to forget that all of this Tottenham talk has to do with the creation of the Prem and a Spurs fan trying to stab you!!

Meanwhile, we're all glad for Chelsea because they took a brief pause from being a**holes and wished us well last year.

This is just sad.

lollol So you have a problem with Chelsea and call them arseholes and that's fine. But we all need to leave poor little spuds alone because it's embarrassing. And still I ask but you obviously think it was fine for spuds fans to punch a woman.

The only sad thing is yourself. It seems your opinion is correct and others is totally wrong.

Not really or do you think one of the cvnts trying to stab me is ok. Or punching women at Wembley is funny.

As I have said many times football started befor the prem and way befor we won the prem.

All clubs have tw@t fans. You can't surely group ALL Spurs fans as idiots cos of a couple of incidents 25 years ago. But if it gives you closure you all carry on with it!!!!

I personally prefer clubs like Spurs competing against the United's,Arsenals and I still remember that Ricky Villa goal v ManCity!!!!.

It is what it is. As I said, if we were not the last side chasing you, I would have been right behind Leicester myself and enjoyed it all so much more. I imagine if you put yourselves in the shoes of Spurs' fans a lot of you would have felt the same way. I did feel bitter, but you have to suck it up, and I was actually elated that Leicester won the title ahead of the usual suspects.

I would love to say yes, Wembley won't affect us but it inevitably will. I think it will be a good learning experience for the players and the club, but I certainly think the opposition will thrive at playing at Wembley more than us who have somewhat been affected. I do think the "Wembley hoo doo" is a little excessive as we lost to some good sides including Monaco and Chelsea. Leverkusen was disappointing, CSKA we beat and Gent, Alli got sent off after 30 mins or so before we drew chasing the game. Point is we won't play a Chelsea or Monaco every week, but we do make uncharacteristic errors at Wembley.

Title challenge will depend on how well we can adapt, and ultimately signings. We need much better strength in depth than what Janssen, Sissoko and N'Koudou were able to provide us with.

How about you guys? Surely Shakespeare will get the job now? Look like the Leicester of last year, so am really intrigued as to how well you could do.

Just wondering if you don't get rid of your bottling or bridesmaids Label just how long Alli Kane and your other top players will stick around, but I honestly think you will struggle playing your home games at Wembley as it's shown in your European competitions I think every team playing you guys next season will be playing with that extra bit of gusto on that famous Wembley pitch!!

Playing you guys at Wembley next season will feel like some clubs cup finals as they've never visited such an iconic stadium, and I can see teams going at Spurs like never before!!

So finishing 5-6th next season will be a bonus for you  as I honestly can't see you match the intensity associated with Wembley or match the table finishes of the last couple of years!!

You might be right.

The bottling tag is ridiculous imo. We do need to win a trophy soon, but we've never actually bottled the past two season as yourselves and chelsea had healthy leads over us.

This year for instance if you look at the table after 25 games, and I told you that Spurs could have been perfect and won 13 out of 13 (we have won 10 out of 11), yet Chelsea still would have wrapped up the title yesterday. Impressive from them.

Also thats a phenomenal run from Spurs to even get close to them at all. But then to be labelled bottlers after that is a complete joke.

Honestly I don't care about Arsenal finishing above us that year. It meant nothing at that point particularly after we have now d*cked them this season. I mean nowhere in terms of in your entire existence. Leicester have never been a side which has been competing and I'm not going to get into a pissing contest about who has won more because that would be ridiculous. I'm happy for you that you won, well done, but we have also doubled your points tally this season and you are no longer champions so I wouldn't keep harping on about the past.

Spurs are just one of those clubs where the fan base comes across as extremely mouthy and arrogant. Like Forest, like Newcastle, like Man Utd (though at least Man Utd have a 'good reason' to be arrogant). I've never liked them.

Even you spurs 1980 - you seem generally alright but then you're still making comments like 'other teams rolled over'. Listen pal, I can think of several games where teams rolled over for you (Stoke when you won 4-0 they were a disgrace of an 'opponent') and plenty of other examples where you seemed very favoured by the referee, getting penalties for no reason and miraculously avoiding red cards for hideous tackles. Wasn't there one game towards the start of the season when you had 2 offside goals? Then there was our home game with you when one of your players swept Mahrez's legs away in the box and we got no penalty.

You can't say you didn't have your fair share of luck, or that the ease of our win wasn't merited. It's not our fault your players weren't professional and bottled it. You speak like the 11 points wasn't a fair reflection. It was. We were stronger mentally as much as anything else and that counts just as much.

Like others have said, last year there were loads (not a small minority) of Spurs fans going on about how they were actually the best team. It was all over the forums, on Facebook, on the radio (remember the geezer Robbie Savage had to shoot down?). Anyone who doesn't like our style of football last year can, frankly, do one. It was beautiful. It was 2 fingers up to those people who thought you needed possession. To those who thought keeping the ball and slow, calculated build up was the right way to win things.

Hate to burst your bubble, but we were more entertaining than you. Because unlike you, as soon as we got the ball, we tried to score. That was not only why we were so good, but why we were so great to watch. We forced teams into mistakes and put them on the back foot and the ball was in the net before they knew it. And when Vardy wasn't terrorising them with his pace Mahrez was leaving 3 men on their backsides and curling it in the top corner. You can admire your own passing football all you like but I personally find passing the ball quite boring, it's proper attacks that are good to watch.

And your view is exactly the sort of thing that makes people hate Spurs. You never really watched us or appreciated how we played, you just took the rubbish that pundits said about us sitting deep, which is completely inaccurate. You like to label us as a defensive team that lumps it up for Vardy to run onto. I don't want to get too technical here, but the reason we were able to break so effectively is because of the high press and throwing several men forward in attacks, not sitting deep.

But one the biggest reasons I don't like Spurs is your players. Let's be honest, Alli is hateful. His scowling demeanour, his dirty play, his diving, his celebrations. Horrible guy. And I know you all love golden boy Kane but if you were a Leicester fan you'd hate him like I do. Why? Because for all his obvious talent now, he was one of laziest, most pathetic players I've ever seen in a Leicester shirt. Whilst we were dropping like a stone down the table, he was playing like he didn't care one bit. And after stealing a very good living on our books, what he does he do? He comes back with us bottom of the league, scores and then shushes our fans like we're out order (it's not like he was even getting dogs abuse). Just an absolute turd of a bloke. To clarify, yes players do that shushing thing all the while and who cares. But in the context, I think it showed the lack of class Harry Kane has.

Oh and let's not forget, even after we won the league, there was the Euros. Whilst Vardy was sitting on the bench and Drinkwater and Albrighton were sitting at home, Roy Hodgson in all his wisdom was picking 5 Spurs players in the starting 11 whilst we absolutely bombed out of the tournament after some of the most limp performances I have ever seen from an England team, and that's saying something. Players being picked for who they play for, rather than their form, is one of my (many, admittedly) pet hates and that Euros was one of the most blatant examples of that in living memory. It was absolutely sickening and I was so glad to see us humiliated after that.

Yeh so, forgive me if even Chelsea, who are generally the most easy to despise, are preferable to you winning the title this year.

Again look at my comment. What I said is that is what we felt like at the time, that teams were rolling over. There was a genuine good will towards Leicester from everyone as confirmed by Ranieri when he was on Sky after he was sacked. Everyone wanted them to win. I and many other Spurs fans felt the world was against them. But guess what? That's normal for every football club. Every set of fans will say there is a media bias against their club, or refs never favour them etc. Thats just the way we football fans are.

I have given you all your dues. You won, ultimately who cares what I say?

Your opinions, like mine are all incredibly subjective. You state you played more entertaining football as fact. All I saw was a team sit back and score with their only shot on target in a game. This is how I perceived it at the time. Absolutely, I might be wrong, and thats fine but its also my opinion.

And you hating Spurs players? Who cares. The world thinks Vardy is a d*ckhead, and he's racist. But do you care as Leicester fans? Of course not. People getting riled about a handshake is the most ridiculous thing of all. They are kids. 20/21 year olds. They're having fun.

You come across as incredibly bitter yet have nothing to be bitter about. You won ffs!

Sure. If that makes you happy. Prior to that, you won nothing, so should I go on about that? Look I'm not trying to wind you guys up, I'm just saying the reasons for hating Spurs are weird. But I get it, football rivalry can be weird and irrational.

By the same excuses that you guys use about the guys on the fightingcock forum being idiots, i can justifiably point to quite a few posts which are very much the same in terms of being stupid in this thread alone. But I accept it as banter. Like I keep saying, you won! It really doesn't matter what I say, you can just point to your PL trophy.

Never said we we must spare any flak toward Spurs, nor did I ever say it was OK for ANYONE to punch a woman. Let's lump all Spurs fans with the guys who were in our end in 1999. C'mon, man-- take a breath and read.

Pretty sure we haven't had any trouble with Spurs fans since that game but clearly this is a personal thing for you, so you do what ever you gotta do to deal with those issues. I'm not going to keep dragging this down (and I'd rather bang my head against a wall than read anymore of this thread) glad you made it through that attack; I hope the culprit was brought to some sort of justice.

My point is the constant harping on Spurs is pathetic. We give a pass to Chelsea-- a club that we've had our fair share of issues with, and a club with a horrible fan base-- because they were nice when we were stopping other London clubs from winning. Now we have a thread that's turned into folks writing about The Flying Cock (really??) and the fact that Spurs fans didn't make accounts on FT to congratulate us (awww, poor babies) You don't agree that that's sad?

That is one of the things with Spurs, yes I know Spurs are much bigger than Leicester but they truly believe they are one of the elite.  Sadly they don't have the trophy cabinet to back this up.

Like you say, this shouldn't happen to Leicester.  Traditionally, whoever wins the league is none of our business but it happened and our grandchildren's grandchildren will still be harping on about it for years to come.
