Guardiola praise

Nice words to hear from a guy who has achived so much as player and coach in the game. He might be tapping up our players, but he did also correclty identify some of our key strengths and praise us for them.

Kasper will not have liked how Pep and Man City treated Hart (his bestie when they were playing together there), no way is he going there.

Not to mention he will absolutely not go there if there's any chance he may sit on the bench for any games.

I don't know... he may feel there's unfinished business to take care of and there's a clear opportunity to go and work with one of the top managers in the game. Plus, friendship is of no concern in business, so that's not a factor.

Equally, if you're signing for a club, you do so in the belief you can impose yourself into the first 11 and there is no reason Kasper shouldn't think that.

He certainly has more ties to Manchester City than Manchester United - I could see him going there.

I personally thought Mahrez had Clichy on toast yesterday. Especially second half.

Hes been decent the last 2-3 games. I honestly don't think he's been as bad as people make it out post-Ranieri

I was earholing some Citeh fans on the tram who'd been sat near Mahrez 2nd half, they had nothing but praise for him.

Surely that's some sort of offence?

I'm sure people may claim;

  • he couldn't have been much worse
  • he's suddenly upped his game to get a move

I think it's a bit like being married to a stunning wife.

After a while all you see are her faults and complain that she's put on a few pounds since the wedding day.

You forget the good times and become complacent, yet all the time other blokes our swooning over her and wishing she was theirs.

And then all of a sudden she leaves you and quickly you realise there's a big gaping hole in your life and you remember how fortunate you once were.

Then spend the rest of your life regretting how you let her go and that you didn't pay her enough attention while you had her.

Off to the the depression thread for me after reading that!

Some comments from the man city forum "blue moon", people who have no ulterior motives to like/dislike riyad

"
"  had clichy on toast most of the game, taxi for clichy!!"

"and Mahrez is as good as anyone there is one on one"

"Mahrez is unbelievable, he's wasted at leicster. Could play for any team in the world." (Bit too much there)

" I thought Mahrez was quality"

Looking forward to see mahrez voted bottom 3 in the match ratings thread.

Cool. Man City fans who ten years ago were getting raped in the championship and league one pretending they know talent with their two titles. Score. Noisy Neighbours

And before you say I'm having a dig at Mahrez I'm not. Just getting fed up of supporters of sub standard clubs/ countries judging Leicester and what it has to offer.

Well, I think judging by the type of players they have in their squad, they can spot quality when they see it.

You remember the saying about glass houses, I don't think its wise to go after them like we have the trophy cabinet of man united.

is that not the point I am making? They are judging us as to where we are now. With one title and bank full of money. An owner with great ambition and a squad that has shown  far higher than their station. Erm... Man City circa pre Abu Dhabi takeover? Chelsea pre Ken Bates ownership? Liverpool pre Shankly? Arsenal pre Wenger? Spurs pre Levy and Pochetino?

its the same with Algerian fans. Who the **** are can anyone tell me Marc Albrighton is shit when you have ****ing Guiediora and Bentaleb sitting next to Mahrez. It's a joke.

Im sorry but playing next to for example Wijnaldum or Fernandinho will bring out the best of him. Come on.

Dont judge Leicester when your own achievements are not on par with the Reals, the Barca's, the Milans etc.

Leicester have to sell this ambition to Mahrez but pretending that Albrightons deliver to Shinji yesterday and that finish was standard is as ridiculous as pretending Mahrez is not a special talent. Mahrez is and his team mates allow him to do so. Just ask Danny Simpson and every other defender in a five a side team who play with their mate with the spiked up hair and shiny yellow shoes. His great but boy is it hard. Everything achieved is team based end of.

You had some bottled up emotions there, @Mickyblueeyes. lol , but that's not our problem. People can talk all they want, what I care about is what people inhere think.

Little bit of an advice, avoid the official Leicester Facebook page, it isn't gonna be helping you. lol

BTW, bentaleb is great, he definitely has better passing range and deep playmaking ability than any of our midfielders.

Mate, I was responding to your quote from a Man City forum apparently educating us on a player Leicester has supported more than anyone else. So any defence of Leicester City is bottled up emotion? No genuine come back? What exactly was bottled up emotion? Stating facts on the irony that every club starts somewhere?

Like I said, Mahrez is superb but that cross from Albrighton? The finish from Shinji? Seriously, not a word on those? It was a good team goal. From King winning it to Shinji finishing it.

Bentalab and the word Great in the same sentence? WOW! High opinion indeed. Slight exaggeration maybe? It's a fair assessment that the remainder of the Algerian is being carried by Mahrez. They would've struggled to qualify for the AFCON without him. Come on, give Riyad his credit.

Yep and his role in our goal was brilliant. Few players in our team capable of pinging that type of cross field pass.

Being a Leicester fan is like marrying your childhood sweetheart and staying with her forever. She's pretty average looking, and you know there are any number of more attractive women around, but you stay with her because, well, she's 'the one' and that's the way it'll always be. You have your ups and downs, and some days you storm out and swear you'll never return, but of course you always do.

Then, one day she walks through the door and she's somehow been transformed into the world's sexiest woman. She takes you upstairs and shows you things you'd never even fantasized about. And this happens regularly - for a whole year!  After that, things pretty much return to normal. But deep inside of you is a warm glow that stays with you for the rest of your life.

I read this twice and still have no idea what Pep is on about. "For that reason, you cannot pass and put the ball to the full-back or the striker, because of Okazaki, Slimani and Mahrez." That makes no sense whatsoever

I haven't heard the audio, but having done a good bit of transcription over the last few decades, I'd guess that the following punctuation may be closer.

"You cannot high press them because Schmeichel has an amazing pass, for that reason.  You cannot pass and put the ball to the full-back; or, the striker -- because of Okazaki/Slimani, and Mahrez -- it is so difficult to control that."

EDIT:  Just saw the original footage on youtube, and I was wide off the mark.  Oh well.
