I'm pleased for him.  Anyone can miss a penalty.  He gave his best at City and I don't see why anybody should wish him any ill-will.  He wasn't the only one to miss a penalty that night.

Sounds like you still are to me.

Read the very next sentence.

We didn't know it at the time but it turned out that he did us a favour in some respects.

But that doesn't mean he's not a complete dickhead for putting his ego ahead of the club. He'll get dogs abuse next season should Reading go up and rightly so.

I read the whole thing and it makes no difference.

It was a pen in the play-offs 7 years ago. If you choose to boo him fine, I'm not arsed, but what you've said makes you sound bitter.

How can I possibly be bitter when i've said that everything turned out for the best?

He's a **** for putting his ego ahead of the club. For doing so he'll be booed.

He wanted the spotlight with his little chip after his team mates had put him in the play-offs and he did that. I bet the players were ****ing livid.

Saying one thing doesn't mean you aren't bitter about it. It's the same as me saying the result against Man City doesn't matter. That doesn't mean I'm not bitter the pen didn't count.

You're saying he should get abuse. It comes across bitter.

Although it did turn out well for us ultimately, he was a prize Dick for taking the penalty as he did and denying me a trip to Wembley.

Tonight he decided to take a decent penalty and deny me another trip to Wembley, the other half supports Fulham and I was quite looking forward to a visit to Wembley.

In contrast, on that night in 2010 Fulham lost to Atletico in the Europa League Final. Ours was a happy house that night :(

Still a twat though

Want to write 'never gets old' but actually, given everything that's happened since, it's like a completely different era.

I still love this. Yes he'll always be remembered for THAT penalty, but I wouldn't boo if he goes up next year. Times a great healer and frankly in hindsight I'm glad we didn't go up that year. As much as I wanted it at the time, we weren't ready for the premier league, we'd have been slaughtered.

And hey, we've not had a bad few years since have we.

This thread is like a script for a new back to the future. Anyway so the people who are giving kermo credit for our title win lollol So your also giving cvnty wise credit also.

Had he not forced us into administration  lineker and co would never have taken over. So MM would never have bought and sold the club.

Thank you club hero cvnty wise. lol

how is there a thread about this and how the fvck are people still sore about his miss?! look at where we've come since then ffs.

It's not 'sore'. I don't care in the scheme of things but I'll never like him or wish anything but woe on him for the disrespectful manner he took that penalty.

Anyone who plays for us like they don't give a shit about the club and only their own egos, as that penalty proved, can't ever be forgiven.

While him missing the penalty has undoubtedly benefited us in the long term, it doesn't change the fact that he's a fat, arrogant cvnt and will be getting booed to the high heavens by me next season if they come up.

My hatred of him is accentuated by having gone to charlton away twice following his infamous night in Cardiff and him scoring against us both times. You could tell he loved it as well.

If he returns next season against at us, I will applaud him.  If he had scored that peno, we may never won the league years later

He's retiring at the end of the season so he won't be playing against us

People seem to forget he's 35

No, but that didn't stop us from hurting at the time.

Kermorgant put his ego before the club and therefore he's a complete dickhead for me. If they go up he'll be booed.

That's not to say i'm still bitter. We'd never have done what we did if we'd gone up that year. But like I say, he's still a complete and utter twat for what he did.

When was that, obviously not the penalty, pretty sure he wasn't thinking "this is gonna make me look great".

Think people need to take a little look at our squad that somehow  got us into the play offs and  appreciate what a Job Pearson and Shakey did. You would have needed 20 new players to even think of making a fist of it in the prem. He really did us a favour

Getting playoffs with that squad lol

Nigel Pearson football genius.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what he was thinking!
