Shakespeare future decided next week - Percy

It's one game with loads of players out injured. Shakey's a humble bloke he'll know he got it wrong tonight and he'll learn alot from it. Still deserves the job.

Don't things on this one defeat... how reactionary would that be!

Judgement should be be reserved for the Bournemouth game. As a manager, you can learn more from these moments than you can from winning games.

Every manager has been on the wrong end of a dicking at least once in their career.

(and it should be noted, I'm saying this from a position of previously suggesting maybe Shakey isn't the way to go)

We didn't down tools, we had Amartey centre back versus one of the most potent attacks in the league, we got undone by being too attacking and going for it. Without Huth, Morgan and Drinky we didn't have a chance tonight

Your answer sort of makes me even more sure he won't get the job

His subs tonight were awful.

If he had a central midfielder on the bench, i think he'd have chucked him on. In fact, I think he'd have liked two of them.

Out of interest... what would you (or anyone) have done differently that would have made an obvious difference?

I fear cracks are beginning to show but luckily for us at the right time. It's a massive risk sticking with the assistant manager for a prolonged period nevermind the following season, it's rarely ever worked out well.

Shakespeare did what we needed him to- beat the sides around and below us and drag us to safety. What has continued is the shambolic efforts against the better teams. We gave nobody an easy game last season, even in a heavy defeat to Arsenal we had spells where we troubled them, but this season, barring a couple of very good performances against Man City and Liverpool and a decent couple of draws with Arsenal and Tottenham, we've rolled over or not even bothered in at least six matches against the top six teams.

I can't shake the feeling he was a the right caretaker to get the team going again, he knew the squad and the club so it was logical to put him in charge, but long-term I'm not convinced.

It's Pearson's / Ranieri's team.

(and, if you count Kasper, Sven's team  )

Shakespeare has not been given a single window!

Maybe we need a poll.

It's not really Shakeys faults we had 1 recognised centre back in the team tonight

Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare, speaking to BBC Sport:

"At half-time I thought we needed to cause them more problems. For 10-15 minutes of the second half we played on the front foot and got back into the game but the third goal for them seemed to take the confidence away from us.

"We have to be more competitive against them, we gave them too much space, we have to make sure we get blocks in. The goals were too easy in my view but we haven't had too many performances like that.

"We will reflect on it in the morning. We have another game on Sunday and we have to pick ourselves up quickly."

On his future:

"The planning for me just starts for Bournemouth this weekend. That is all I can focus on. There's been a bit of recruitment which I've been privy to but for me is to focus on football."

We somehow managed to vacate the middle of the pitch halfway through the 2nd half.

Not take off the only fit CB at the club. Not play a half arsed Mahrez in c.mid.

poor shakespeare having to rely on the likes of benalouane & amartey.

now it's up to our recruitment staff to get things right in the summer & give shakespeare PL quality options to choose from.

I honestly think he may have blown his chance. Defeat against Bournemouth will seal it

We will beat Bournemouth, top 10 is decent

He's clearly an excellent coach, and has a great rapport with the players....however not based on this result alone, I'm not sure he is a 'manager' and are we going to be able to pull in the kind of difference makers we need to sign.

I feel the club needs to step up, and stride forward, otherwise last season will be just a legacy on a mantelpiece....

Marco Silva - make it happen.

What on earth did he do that Shakespeare hasn't? The clown lost 2-0 at home to an abysmal relegated Sunderland and blew their chance of staying up. How's that any better than Shakespeare making such a pigs ear tonight after what he did for us in the CL and saving us from relegation?

There really are some reactionary salads on this forum.
