"Lacklustre" conjures up images of our 3-0 defeat against Southampton away. Or most any other derogatory description come to that.

Today's game started badly but ended up a good contest with us looking the most likely winners.

And for a team that's travelled from bottom three to mid-table over recent weeks I'm more than happy with the situation.

I'm happy about how the season ended as in position and champions league, because looking back we were in a bad way.

This thread is about the owners looking at Shakespeare as permanent, and after some indifferent performances, and it's not just about injuries, but tactics as well, from a strong position, he ask more questions about him getting it, than answers.

Not taking away the good job of him keeping us up, is he the long term answer, I don't know, but he needed to go out with a bang today, that's where I'm trying to get with my posts.

As I have said numerous times, if the owners want to give him a years contract, it wouldn't bother me, he wouldn't take us down, but personally I don't think he's the answer to move us forward, and it still doesn't take away we had been poor recently

First 40 mins was like we was playing Barca,  which is laughable considering how bad the Bournemouth team is with out king

Don't normally get annoyed by away fans, but the ole had my blood boiling, because like you say, we made them look like Barca lol

If it puts the original post into context, I was outside the ground at half time, and pretty pissed at what I saw.

What was it you saw?

Not sure we can  just blame Shakey.  We really do have some shit  players. Massive clearout and rebuild needed. Whether  shakey is  the man to oversee the rebuild im not sure.

I think this is part of the dilemma. Is Shakey experienced enough to manage the clear out and rebuild?

My biggest concern would be exactly that and I think another manager might come in and tell the owners they need to rebuild the scouting/recruitment aspect of this club because it's been broken for 18 months.

Hopefully someone who has better vision in terms of our style of play.

Who is the next poch on the continent?

Wagner is and he already knows the English game ;)

We need to be honest with ourselves. Will Shakey be able to challenge for a spot in the top6 next season? The owners have had a taste of European football, and I think they'll be motivated to reach that level once more. They'll need to invest a lot and sadly that means Shakey will need to be replaced. He's decent but he is still not premier league caliber yet.

He should be applauded for helping Leicester stay in the prem and progress one more round in the UCL, but I'm afraid that's already way more than anyone expected him to accomplish.

The owners need to patch things up with Nige and bring him back.

Ranieri has left us in a right state and Nige is best place to turn things round for us.

I think Shakespeare needs and deserves the opportunity to manage now in order to see where he stands, either as a very good manager or an excellent coach. Now he's had a taste of it you could fully understand why he would want to try it, who could blame him.

I'm also of the opinion that such an 'experiment' should  not be with us. We're a multimillion pound business and need a proven manager with experience but...where are they? If I was that new manager however, I'd also want to bring my own staff in now as I'd have a suspicion that knowing that Shakespeare was so close to the players (combined with his own ambitions), if things got off to a rocky start, or I wanted to change things, my supposed right hand man could turn into a snake in the grass and go behind my back with the players.

Can you imagine the crap we are going to endure by the gutter media 'if' we do not appoint Shakey?  CR the sequel.   This I am sure is in the back of our Owners' minds.

It's shouldn't be on their minds at all given parting company with Ranners was the correct decision.

I agree but listening to Talkshite this morning from the Alps, they are already saying he should get the job because he kept us up.

won the world cup with cherry hinton mate

Benny has been solid since he came in, I've listed 4 potential centre back signings. Slimani will come good, It just fit that lineup to have him in over vardy, not fussed which one starts but we need to test new formations.

what games have you been watching? Hes anything but solid. Constantly out of position and highly prone to diving in

I assume you never win anything on FM? You want to start Slimani instead of our most prolific goalscorer in the last 2 years?

Also Benalouane was awful today. Id be looking to get two new centre halves.

If vardy goes, there would be no choice but to play Slimani as the main striker. Or if they can sell without making too much loss, we can get a new pacey striker.

Clearly you've not been watching the ones where we've kept clean sheets and he's been impressive.

Slimani as first choice striker is a scary thought

I don't disagree but my comment was made based on the assumption that Vardy was staying. Out of the current crop of strikers then yes he would be number one should Vardy leave.

I honestly want him to succeed as I'm sure we all do. Hopefully with a good preseason he can get up to scratch. Certainly a decent player in there. That missed header thought was shocking. Especially when that's his main attribute.

These are hard core businessmen. On thst score, they wont worry 3 pkts of cigs, and a bottle of plonk!!!

Trust in our owners. We saw NP take a flyer, before the media could even get started.

They took on the PL and ...won .They took on the CR flak, held to their decision...and won.
