I'm not sure it's fair to fully compare the Portuguese Liga NOS with the Premier League. Adrian Silva's stats look impressive when put up against Drinkwater's, still you face weaker opposition in Portugal and have less league matches to play.

I'm well aware.

Bit used correctly it can give people an idea of what he's like.

in fairness to wes, he has earned the right to be club captain until he no longer wants it.

In fairness to Wes as a player he's been a great player for us. As an on field captain Imo he should never been given the job.

People just use stats however the fvck they want don't they?  I hate people.  I hate all of you.  You all make me sick and every time I lower myself to speak to one of you or comment on something I hate myself too.  I hate myself most of all because even though I know I am better than you all I let myself be affected by you which means that, in reality, I am a bigger cvnt that all of you and so that makes me fvcking vile.  I don't even like the ones of you that are OK, I hate you too.  Every time I read a comment on here that I don't like, I hate the cvnt that wrote it for being such an dongshazzler but every time I read a comment on here that is actually OK I hate the person that wrote that too for being such a self righteous, knowitall tw*t.  Then when I reply I hate myself worst of all.

Anyway, this Silva guy seems a right sh1t hot ball of sexy fvcking spunk.  Let's sign him.  I love you all. X

Hands up if you think Rumble is a massive knob head.

They don't look as similar as you describe. Silva played less minutes and was better then Drinkwater in every department. Pass completion, key passes and chances created are substantially better.

To be fair (and I don't rate Drinkwater anywhere near as highly as most others on here) it's a darn sight easier to pass the ball to team mates who aren't hiding.

Sigh... minutes have nothing to do with it, they are averages.

Yeah I can see he beats him in all departments. The point I was trying to make is that they are similar, and they are similar, you add in other midfielders to that and you'd see what I mean, the stats wouldn't mirror each other closely like those do. You'd have other peaks and troughs. It says to me he could be a very similar style of player.

Sporting fan here.

Looks like Silva's move to Leicester is in full swing..if this happens Leicester will be getting one hell of a midfielder.

This is a guy that gives 150% every game and he never seems to quit. He was one of the main reasons why Portugal won Euro2016.

Adrien should have already been at Leicester last season to be honest.

They used to link up very well according to sporting fans when we were linked last year so I assume so.

They linked up well, but the really good link to Slimani would be Gelson Martins, Sporting best winger.

Problem is Gelson Martins also links really well with Sporting best goal scorer right now, and Martins probably will be Portugal best player after Ronaldo hangs his boots, so... not that cheap.

The stats aren't similar though, at least not the passing ones.

The difference between 84% and 78% when realistically every central midfield player going will have pass completion between 70-90% is pretty significant as is 0.8 v 0.5 key passes per game.

(As a caveat I've said above that it's very hard to compare a player in a side with players comfortable on the ball with the shambles our lot were for the first 6 months of last season).

If we get Silva for Drinky AND make a profit that looks like excellent business.

In other news, Watford have signed Molla Wague on loan.lol

I love that a Portuguese person got this right when it seems most English people don't! lol

Can't believe he is going to the trouble of flying here on the off chance that drinky will leave

expect the two deals to be done or none to be done and the fact he is in the way would indicate the former
