In all fairness to Rudkin since he's been director of football we brought in Huth who, arguably, was a massive reason we pulled off the great escape. We just about got every player we wanted last summer, not his problem they mostly flopped, and we signed N'didi who could go on to become a very very good player. Add Maguire to that previous statement too. I doubt he'll have much to do with finding players, just gets the ones he's told to sign. He gets some unfair criticism on here, as a fan for many years now our transfers business has never been the best. In an age of instant info fans believe everything they read and when a player signs for someone else they blame Rudkin because he's not come here just because there was a tedious link printed in the Loughborough echo! We're rich, but we're not that rich. We can't go and splash £30million on a player when he's worth half of that. We have to get the best deals for the club.

Having looked at hundreds of players around different leagues I can tell you it isn't silly if you interpret them correctly. They still show patterns and can give an indication of strengths and weaknesses. Don't want to take anything from them, then don't. But I'll happily predict that he has a similar all round style to DD. Plenty missing to know what his energy, pace, shooting etc are like. So it's no indicator of success. But it's a positive start if we are looking for someone to take that forward thinking cm role.
