Also disappointed Barnes didn't get on, should have come on for match fitness alone

He’s played three games recently, the others need match fitness more than him... it’s annoying but it’s fair

Lemina? He's 6'0.  Hardly a giant.  Also, he's at Juve, so why would he join us?

Always looked taller, we were in for him before, Just wanted his name more than anything to see if we are still linked anywhere.

Think we definitely need to sell:

Musa, Mahrez, King (or loan, not much point though)  Probably Ulloa as we will never play to suit him.

Need CB, CM, Winger, Striker

We desperately lack any sort of creativity and need to address this asap because we can't keep the ball never mind build an attack. Ulloa musa Lawrence just are not good enough and although I rate slimani he just doesn't fit our style. We need a proper number 10 who can in pockets of space and play some killer passes. We have too many similar midfielders now. They can all pass side to side and back but haven't got the intelligence to drive with the ball and play a incisive pass. We need to invest and get rid of the fringe players that just don't suit us

Norwich - last minute goal, 3 points

West Ham - last minute pen conversion, 1 point

Swansea (Vardys suspention) 2 goals, 3 points

There's 7 out of the 10 gap we had right there which he directly affected.

He's not had the best season last season i'll give you that, but we've had so many terrible backup strikers over the years here who couldn't do anything i'm more than happy with his contribution

Each to their own I suppose, but I don't rate him at all...

There is zero creativity what so ever without Mahrez. If we lose him and don't replace him properly then we'll struggle.

Nothing too glaringly wrong at either end, vardy had a few he could've put away which will come with games, nothing too bad at the back. Only issue being lacking creativity once mahrez and albrighton went off

Iborra on a par with the Inler signing ... don't look too promising

Absolute genius , bloke has played less than a full game and he's an  Inler you really couldn't make it up. A good career with Sevilla but never mind let's dump him lol

We definitely need creativity in midfield.

We need to pursue someone else instead of sigurdson desperately

Dynamism as much as creativity. Any team can create chances if they see enough of the ball. We need an energetic, athletic, strong sort of player in midfield instead of King if we want to continue with our high energy dependant system, just someone who can create counter attacks as well as skipping past a player or two.

Considering most players had only had 45 mins of pre-season match time before that I was very happy with it. The first half team were much better than the second half team. Ulloa for Vardy sums that up. Maguire gets my player of the match. Thought James had a good one too.

There is noone in midfield who can actually do something useful in attack

zero creativity

James has shown he can, currently him and Wilf should be starting. Obviously a long way to go and we all know preseason means nothing.

That's my main issue with him, Iborra, Leo... all far too plodding. No edge to them.

Hard to judge from two friendly openers in energy sapping conditions with lots of changes in both games.

But here goes as a few thoughts:

Need RB back up for Simpson

Maguire is already looking a great signing

Ndidi is class but we need a complementary creative player in midfield

James possibly offers much more than Drinkwater or King

Iheanacho is needed!

Need to ditch some players

Need to keep Mahrez

It's a pre season show event, for sure, but it's hard to see that squad going to Arsenal in two weeks time and winning. Genuinely, we look solid (I don't think we'll concede a lot) but we ain't got enough goals in us.

If we play the Arsenal of today, that might be ok....

Early days.  My biggest individual concern is DD ... the assumption seems to be that a bounce back season is guaranteed, but I didn't see any bounce.  I may "bounce" the Boudebouz thread, we could have used that type today.

Maguire really impressed me. Looks a solid signing.

Same. He got stretched at times but that's down to protection mostly. Looks great on the ball.

About sums it up

Drinkwater continuing his shit form from last season, no way should he start the opening game against Arsenal.

If we end up keeping Ulloa over Slimani, it will be one of the worst decisions will ever make.

King's time is up, he offers nothing.
