Listen bro, I think the whole situation was blown out of perspective by the media. He clearly went to Paris as a result of the United and Chelsea rumours prior to deadline day in-case of a transfer. He knew that had he gone to Zambia, there would've been no way he would've came back in time.

The club is aware that Mahrez wished to leave, and they agreed to let him go assuming an appropriate offer were to come in. So where is the problem?

How dare you come on here and be so damn reasonable?

Regardless of how much money we would have got for Mahrez , I would always prefer to have him in an LCFC shirt

A talent like him doesn't come around very often...Just enjoy him while he is here..

So why Paris why not back to Leicester that sits more or less central to Manchester and London.

From Sky Sports app:

MAHREZ LATEST

Sky Sources have been told Riyad Mahrez is still technically in the care of the Algerian national team, and Leicester don't expect him to return to the club until the middle of next week.

Mahrez didn't get on a plane with the rest of the Algerian team, bound for a match in Zambia yesterday, in the hope that he may still be able to secure a move away from Leicester.

He handed in a transfer request in May, but promised to stay and fight for Leicester if no move materialised.

It's been made clear to Sky Sports News no bids have been made for Mahrez, since Roma's £32m was rejected more than three weeks ago.

We've been told Barcelona is his dream destination, and the Spanish transfer window doesn't close until midnight tonight.

But we don't expect Barca to make any late attempt to sign him.

Listen i'm not his agent, but I'd assume that since Paris can take you anywhere in the world, he was just standing by waiting for an offer.. which we know now was a longshot.

I think you are blowing this out of perspective, it's not a big deal as long as the club would've been okay with the transfer (we all know they wouldn't have accepted an unreasonable bid anyway). He was given the green light by the club to look for a new club, at the condition that the bid will be deemed acceptable.. but clearly there was no bid. So now he can return to normal, and perform as expected.

As fans, we should be happy that he is staying, but it's okay to feel sorry for him, because he clearly wanted Barcelona more than anything. Obviously a life long dream of his, and considering his age.. this might've been his last hope

I'm never believing Sky again. They claimed Barcelona were ready to bid (which they weren't) then they claimed Chelsea bid 45 million (which they didn't).

not sure what the big deal is about him hanging about in Europe in case a last minute deal came off.

he expressed his wish to leave.

nothing concrete lined up apart from shitty bids from Roma.

thinks it's possible that due to other players moving about he MIGHT get called upon for a move.

stays somewhere close by so that he can get from a>b quickly if opportunity arises.

is it REALLY that much of an arsehole thing to do?

not for me. maybe if you don't have more important things in life to get worked up about?

I expect him to return to us from the International fixtures and seek out Top and ask him if he would give his ear a flick....all will be good then.....

I know, as others have said they just seem to make up stuff now so people use SkyBet. Like the reporter who was at Bournemouth said that they never even bid on Gray yet it was rolling along Sky's yellow ticker all day.

He has played three games his season for us despite wanting to leave and no doubt his advisors told him there was plenty of interest.

How many games have  coutinho, van dijk, DD and Sanchez played ?  About 70 mins across the four of them!

i have no issue with him wanting to do the best for himself yesterday. I blame the Algerian FA for releasing an unnecessary tweet which muddied the waters big style.

This! People should hold their judgment on him until after the next few games, for all know, he is still committed to the club.

He's not committed to the club committed players don't look for a move. By mid November he'll be making noises looking to run in January. That is not commitment that's playing for a move.

as long as he plays and plays well for a move I don't really mind.

he's gonna go, it's inevitable but he should now be focused on giving his 100% best for his remaining time here, week in, week out and show the world how a player gets a move by being a stand-up professional mother****er.

Why did you even trust Sky in the first place?

They fabricate stories themselves to build up drama and get more viewers. Why anyone listens to them I'll never know.

That sounds about right.

The only people I really trust are reporters from the Telegraph (John Percy, Matt Law etc).

Until November, I will hold off the judgment, nothing good comes out of hypothetical situations.

When he strikes, when he refuses to play, when he fakes an injury, then and only then I will look at him differently.

Innocent until proven guilty!

Me too, statements directly from a named person such as those or BBC's Ian Dennis are a lot more reliable than filler in a paper

If mahrez does end up staying he needs to sit in the u23s for a month to make him realise he's not bigger than the club it's grays turn now to show what he's got, he needs to learn or get rid of his agent

Well it makes the club look like a bunch of mugs for a start. He was given permission to go on international duty, not go selling himself to other clubs.

And what good does that do?

The team needs him, he didn't refuse to play, he already got humbled by what happened the least 3 days, no need to humiliate the man, that's just asking for trouble!

And when Gray inevitably flops? (good prospect, but still needs to mature in his game)
