Riyad has received some dreadful advice by the look of it - if anything he actions yesterday just made him look desperate and selfish, which I don't believe he is. Top players don't need to do that, and whilst I think he is a technically gifted footballer I don't believe he is on the same level as the likes of Hazard, Silva, for example. This might be wishful thinking and whilst he has arguably bettered himself, I always get the feeling kante was happier at Leicester and again there could well have been agent involvement there. As much as I can feel sorry for a millionaire footballer, I do. He will be feeling embarrassed but will have to get over it quickly, the best way is to be humble and make a joke about it, followed by playing the best football he can till Jan. A few weeks back a journo on Radio Leicester told Stringer that his new agent had bought out his old agents contract but wasn't making any money until he moved to a new club, that's why a transfer was being pushed, to make money for themselves.

Finn Claw II Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Mahrez, Silva, Iborra, Ndidi, Alrighton as a five against the big teams. With those and maguire at the back we might not resort to hoof ball.

I've not questioned his ability. I do however have a problem with his ridiculous behaviour over the last couple of days. I'm also concerned what it could do to team spirit and moral. What now happens when picked in front of Gray and plays shite. It's possible him not going could cause more problems than had he gone. Also where will his head be.

He fvcked up big time with his airport trip. On that everybody can agree. But it's more him left red-faced than the club which will give the scolding he deserves. More ridicule than harm. This kind of stories happen at every transfer window. Let's move on and not hold silly grudges. He still can give us a lot. If not, then the bench or the reserves are waiting for him.

As his actions this week have probably knocked 15m off of his value. Be lucky to get 25m now but I guess that's ok. Let's be honest after his actions this summer how many top clubs will want him. His actions have also let his country down.

He's quality, everybody saw that unless biased, he just have to maintain this level of performance. With him, Silva (hopefully), Nacho, Vardy and Albrighton on the left we can cause problems to any team in the league. I for one think that the Windows went well and the future is quite bright.
Domsdad Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Without wanting to be a doom and gloom merchant but he can sign for Barcelona today can't he? I understand their window closes at midnight tonight.
rn9013 Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Annoying that I have to wait until tomorrow to receive my payout from bet365. Got 7/2 on him staying late yesterday afternoon-just wish I'd have got the 16's on offer yesterday morning! I suppose though Barcelona or another Spanish club could still come in. Really hope he knuckles down and shows us the best of himself between now and January. Personally I'm over the moon we've kept him, he is the most special and gifted player ever to have put on the city shirt.

Grebfromgrebland Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 It'll be interesting to see Shakespeare man management now as people have said we now have Gray and Mahrez, 3 genuine first team midfielders and 4 first team centre backs. We've never been in this position before with such a strong squad. Hopefully he doesn't just go down the A team and B team route and alienate half the squad but tries a more integrated approach. I'm not that confident he has the skills to keep everyone content let's see... interesting few months ahead

yorkie1999 Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 So, Kante turns up at Burton pretending to be Mahrez's best mate and to watch the team play then goes out with the lads afterwards. Mahrez thinks he's got a chance at Chelsea, but really kante is having a quite word with drinkwater and asks him if he's interested. Drinky plays the game and goes along with the ruse and keeping quite about the move. Deadline day and Mahrez still thinks he's being signed by chelsea so hangs around in London, but drinky is already there in hiding. Barkley turns up at chelsea and then refuses to sign at the 11th hour, which makes it look like chelsea are desperate for a home grown player and low and behold Drinky just happens to be hanging about. Eventually Mahrez finds out, throws a wobbly and goes on a european tour. Drinky signs and Mahrez goes back home to live unhappily ever after.

warnerbro Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 I for one am happy he's not got anywhere (yet). On his day a far more influential player than Drinkwater and from the last game against United it came across through his performance that he knew he wasn't going anywhere in this window. Don't get suckered into the Sky drama of deadline day. It's all bullsh*t.
theessexfox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Riyad what an absolute hero, just trotting round Europe on Deadline Day for the laughs. Nearly as funny as Ross Barkley getting a free medical check up out of Chelsea.

Oh please, he's been wanting to leave for a while now but he's still been focused. He stated himself that he would be willing to stay if he doesn't find a new club. Can you really blame him for being amibtious? He wants European football which Leicester cannot provide in the near future.

They say Chelsea is official, then they say it's not. Clearly whoring for clicks on Riyad's expense.

"Willing to stay" sounds like he will tolerate playing for us (until a new opportunity arises). He's as much obliged to honour his contract and play professionally just like the club are obliged to pay his wages. I understand his ambitions, but now that nothing's materialised (for reasons we likely won't know for a while) he should knuckle down and do as well as he can to maybe get that move in January. My worry is that his agent is full of **** and has whispered stuff into his ear making Leicester look like the villain. That would make it difficult for Mahrez to find the motivation to play well for us. But then, there's still until midnight tonight until we can say for sure that he will stay a Leicester player until January...
Almo-Fox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Roma did a 3 rd no and mahrez stay put and prof get insults from fans Chelsea did a bid DD fill transfer request in the final day and get a good words and farewell
